Stampin' Up! Free as a Bird Card

Hi!  Welcome to my blog, I'm so glad you stopped by!  Today's card was inspired by Sketch 256 over at Sunday Stamps

I don't have any doilies or round stamps as large as the one in the sketch, so I decided to get a little creative.  I love this birch stamp, and don't use it enough.  It's a fabulous background stamp and I thought it would be great on this card, but in a circle.  I don't have any circle dies that large, so I traced around the top of a Sonic cup on a scrap of computer paper and cut the circle out with Paper Snips.  Then, I used the magnets on my Stamparatus to hold the paper in place over my cardstock and stamped over the circle.  PERFECT!

Side note ~ did you know that you can get 1/2 price drinks at Sonic ALL day if you order through the app?  Very handy!

MEASUREMENTS
Card Base (Fresh Freesia) ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
Layer 1 (Cinnamon Cider) ~ 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"
Layer 2 (Fresh Freesia) ~ 1" x 4-1/8"
Layer 3 (Smoky Slate) ~ 7/8" x 4-1/8"
Layer 4 (Fresh Freesia) ~ 3-1/8" x 2-1/8"
Layer 5 (Basic White) ~ 3" x 2"
Inside (Basic White) ~ 4" x 5-1/4"

After stamping the Birch in the circle, I stamped 'hello' and the bird on the Basic White using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the bird using only light Blends.

Then, I stamped the piece of Smoky Slate cardstock with the flowers from 'Free as a Bird' in Fresh Freesia and Polished Pink.  After stamping, attach the Smoky Slate strip to the Fresh Freesia strip.  Then, tie a bow around them using Polished Pink Ribbon.

Now it's time to attach all the layers.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue on every layer except the Fresh Freesia the bird is over.  That piece is attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The inside of the card is a flower stamped with Fresh Freesia on Basic White cardstock.

Happy Stamping!
