Stampin' Up! Glimmer Paper Daisy Card

HI!  Thank you for visiting my blog today.  This card was inspired by Sketch 425 from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog.  When I saw this sketch my first thought was to use Stampin' Up!'s Rainbow Glimmer Paper for the diagonal stripes.  This is my first card using this paper and I'm pretty excited about it!

MEASUREMENTS
Basic White Thick Cardstock ~ 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2"
Rainbow Glimmer Paper ~ 1/2" x 12" (*3)
Basic White Cardstock ~ 3" x 9", or enough scraps for 2 large daisies and the center of a third diasy

The first step in making this card is to create the diagonal strips.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Paper Snips to do this part.  I started by adding enough glue to the back of one strip to cover just the area I needed to glue down and attached it to the card base.  Then, I used the scissors to cut off both sides along the edge of the card base (I opened the card and cut from the back of the card front so I could see what I was doing easier).  When I got to the end of the first strip, I set it aside while I attached the 2nd strip.  Then, I took the leftover pieces from the first two strips, matched up the ends and continued the process.  As you can see in the picture below, I only had a few small pieces of these three strips left when I was finished.

Next, stamp the large daisy twice using Magenta Madness on the Basic White Cardstock.  Then, after cleaning your daisy stamp - stamp the center of the daisy (it's okay if you also stamp a few petals, but you are just going to use the center) using Mango Melody ink.  Use the Daisy Punch to cut out the two Magenta Madness daisies and trim around the Mango Melody daisy center with your Paper Snips.  Glue the daisies together and add the center on top.

Stamp the sentiment under the bottom strip.  The Stamparatus makes it easy to line your stamp up perfectly.

Now, glue your daisy to the center of the the glitter strips. Ta-da!

For the inside, I used the 'Congratulations' stamp from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.  You can do this too, or add another sentiment that you like and have on hand.
