Stampin' Up! Hey Birthday Chick Birthday Card - Casually Crafting Blog Hop

Hi!  Welcome to my blog!  I'm so excited to be part of the Casually Crafting Design Team.  We are an international group of Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who want to share our take on casual crafting.  We will share what we love with you monthly.  Be sure to check out the rests of the design team's projects using the links at the bottom of this post.

This month we are all sharing projects based on this sketch.  I have to admit, I was a little stumped about this one at first.  Then, I realized how perfect Stampin' Up!'s Hey Birthday Chick stamp set is for this sketch.  It's like it was made for it.  :)

MEASUREMENTS
Fresh Freesia Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"
Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper ~ 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"
Basic White Cardstock ~ 2-1/4" x 5" (you will cut it more after stamping) 4" x 5-1/4" (inside)

  • Stamp the chicken with balloon on the 2-1/4" piece of Basic White CS.  Be sure to stamp as close to the top edge as possible without going off.
  • Stamp 'let's celebrate you' under the chicken.  This time stamp as close to the bottom of the cardstock as possible.
  • Color the chicken and balloon with Stampin' Blends
  • Adhere the DSP to the front of the Card Base
  • Cut the Basic White CS between the chicken and 'let's', between 'let's' and 'celebrate' and between 'celebrate' and 'you'
  • Adhere the Basic White CS to the DSP as shown in the photo

For the inside of the card, stamp 'Happy Birthday' at the top of the 4" Basic White CS and adhere a leftover strip of the DSP.  The strip I added is 3/8" x 4".  Adhere the White CS to the inside of the card.

I hope you enjoyed this card!  Be sure to check out the rest of the Casually Crafting Design Teams posts using this sketch.  (links below)
