Stampin' Up! A Cut Above Birthday Card

Hello and welcome to my little blog!  Today's card features the stamp set, A Cut Above, which is perfect for the men in your life!  Especially if those men mow your lawn or enjoy relaxing in a hammock!  ;)  This set is from the January - June Mini Catalog and will be retiring soon.

The Designer Series Paper used on this card is from You're a Peach DSP.  I thought this was the perfect paper for this card.   What do you think?

MEASUREMENTS
Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
DSP ~ 4" x 5-1/4"
Garden Green Cardstock ~ 4" x 3"
Basic White Cardstock ~ 4" x 2-3/4" and 4" x 5-1/4" (inside)
Basic Black ~ a small scrap

1.  Stamp the image using black ink on white cardstock
2.  Color the image. I used Watercolor Pencils, then went over it lightly with a blender pen.
For the man's skin, I used a touch of Calypso Coral.
3. Stamp 'Happy Birthday' with Versamark on the Basic Black CS.  Cover with White Embossing Powder, then set with the Heat Tool.  Trim around the sentiment.
4.  Using your favorite adhesive, attach the layers as shown.

For the inside, I added a piece of Basic White Cardstock and stamped a sentiment.

Stampin' Up! Painted Poppies hello Card

Hello!  Welcome to my blog!  Today's card was inspired by Sketch 487 at Freshly Made Sketches.
This simple, slimline sketch has so many possibilities!

My slimline cards are not the usual size for slimlines, but a little smaller.  I like this size because I can easily use half of a 6" x 6" piece of DSP for the card front. I also like this size because it perfectly fits in a 6-3/4" security envelope that I usually find at Target.

MEASUREMENTS
Small Slimline Card Base ~ 6-1/2" x 6-1/4", scored at 3-1/4"
DSP ~ 3" x 6" and 3/8" x 6" (inside)
Polished Pink CS ~ 2-1/8" x 5-1/8"
Basic White CS ~ 2" x 5"

1. Using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamp the poppies twice.
2.  Color the poppies in using Polished Pink Blends.
3. Stamp 'hello' in the upper right corner, above the poppies.
4. Use your favorite adhesive to attach each layer of the card front.
5.  Add a few 2021-2023 In Color Jewels to the front of the card.

For the inside of this card, I simply centered a strip of DSP along the bottom.

If desired, stamp poppies on the front of the envelope and color them in.

I hope you enjoyed this card!  Please contact me if you have any questions or to request a catalog (if you don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and live in the USA).

Stampin' Up! Sunny True Love Card

Hello!  Today is another gloomy & rainy day here.  I know I could use some sunny thoughts, how about you!?  I am very pleased with how this card turned out, and I have to admit it was therapeutic to sit and color the Designer Series Paper while I listened to an audiobook and the rain.

MEASUREMENTS
Basic Black Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
True Love DSP ~ 4" x 5-1/4"
Basic Black CS ~ 3-1/4" x 3-1/4"
Basic White CS ~ 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" and 4" x 5-1/4" (inside)
Daffodil Delight CS ~ 1" x 4-1/2"
Vellum ~ 2" x 5-1/2"

1.  Color the DSP.  I used blends to color.
2.  Use Stampin' Write Markers to color the sentiment.  "Huff" on the stamp to moisten the ink, then stamp on Basic White Cardstock.
3.  Use Layering Circles Dies (I used the largest) to cut a Basic Black scalloped circle, and to cut a circle around the sentiment.
4.  Use the Banners Pick-a-Punch to create a banner with the Daffodil Delight CS.
5.  Color the ribbon and a few rhinestones with the Daffodil Delight Dark Blend.
6.  Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue attach the DSP to the card front, then the vellum and the banner.  Also use the Liquid Glue to attach the Basic White circle to the Basic Black scalloped circle.
7.  Attach the scalloped circle over the banner with Stampin' Dimensionals.
8.  Tie a bow and attach it with a glue dot.  Then add the rhinestones.

For the inside, I kept it simple by just adding a piece of Basic White Cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed this card!  Please contact me if you have any questions or to request a catalog (if you don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and live in the USA).

Stampin' Up! Sweet as a Peach Birthday Card

Hi there!  Today's card is inspired by Challenge 443 from Less Is More.  This is a great sketch that immediately made me think of the new Stampin' Up! set, Sweet as a Peach.

MEASUREMENTS
Balmy Blue Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
DSP ~ 4" x 5-1/4"
Basic White CS ~ scraps and 4" x 5-1/4" (inside)

1.  Stamp the peach and leaves on Basic White CS
2.  Using one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies cut out a rectangle in the upper right corner of your DSP.
The rectangle on this card measures approx. 1-3/4" x 2".  To get the rectangle this size, instead of running the die all the way through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, I only ran it part of the way through.  Then, I took it out and adjusted the die to the location that I wanted it.  It's easy with these stitched dies to feel when the die is lined up nicely with the sides that have already been cut.  Then, run the other side through.
3.  Use the coordinating Peach Dies to cut out the peach and leaves.
4.  Attach the DSP to the front of the card base.
5.  Stamp the sentiment inside the rectangle.  I used my Stamparatus to make sure it all lined up before stamping, but you can also just use a clear block.
6.  Attach the leaves to the peach with Liquid Glue.  Then attach the peach and leaves to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For the inside, stamp the leaves, then the flowers.  I found that it was easier to get my placement correct when I stamped them in this order.

I hope you enjoyed this card!  Please contact me if you have any questions or to request a catalog (if you don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and live in the USA).

Stampin' Up! Celebrate Sunflowers Card

Hello!  I'm so happy that the sun is back out today and we have blue skies!  In fact, I'm so happy about it that it's spilling over into the card I'm sharing with you today with a Misty Moonlight (blue) card front and beautiful SUNflowers!  (cheesy, I know, but I really do love sunshine and it has been SO gloomy and rainy lately!)

MEASUREMENTS
Thick Basic White Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
Misty Moonlight Card Front ~ 4" x 5-1/4"
DSP ~ 1" x 3-1/4"
Scraps of Basic White, Garden Green and Mango Melody

1.  Stamp the sentiment using Misty Moonlight ink on Basic White CS.
2.  Stamp the smaller sunflower using Mango Melody ink on Basic White CS.
3.  Use the intricate Sunflower Die to cut out a sunflower in the Misty Moonlight CS.  Be sure to cut towards the upper left of the CS and save the sunflower and the surrounding piece for the card front.
4.  Use the same Sunflower Die to cut out a sunflower with the Mango Melody CS.
5.  Use the intricate leaf die to cut out a Garden Green leaf.
6.  Cut around the smaller sunflower and sentiment using dies.
7.  Attach the large Mango Melody Sunflower on the Misty Moonlight card front using 3 Mini Stampin' Dimensionals towards the top of the thick inner ring of the flower.
8.  Using Liquid Glue, attach the leaf to the bottom left corner of the card front.  Then apply glue to the bottom and sides of the DSP and attach it to the card front, partly over the leaf and the empty place for the Misty Moonlight Sunflower.
9.  Grab that Liquid Glue again and attach the bottom part of the Mango Melody Sunflower over the DSP.  Attach the smaller sunflower over the right side of the DSP and Sunflower.
10.  Use Glue Dots to attach the ribbon over the flowers and DSP.  (You can put one glue dot in the center of the ribbon, and one on each side of the ribbon, behind the card front.)
11.  Attach the card front to the card base with Liquid Glue.
12.  Line the Misty Moonlight Sunflower up so it fits in the space left for it on the card front.  Carefully apply Liquid Glue to the back of the Sunflower, being careful to keep it lined up correctly.  (I dipped part of a sponge on a dollop of glue placed on a silicone mat, then applied that to the back of the sunflower...carefully)  Place the sunflower in it's place on the front of the card.
13.  Use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the sentiment over the ribbon.
14.  Tie a bow around the ribbon to the left of the sentiment.

This card is a tiny bit more complicated than my usual cards.  Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them!

I purposefully left the inside of this card blank so that I will have more room to write.  You can choose to do the same, or add a strip of the DSP or another sunflower, maybe a leaf, to the inside.

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin April 2021 Pocket Scrapbook cards

Hello!  Welcome to my blog!  I used the April 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit, So Cool, to create today's cards.  These cards are not greeting cards, but cards to insert in a pocket scrapbook.  I kept it simple with these because I can have a tendency to spend too much time designing the 'perfect' cards for my pocket scrapbooks.  So much so that I end up not having much time to get those pictures in!  Let's face it, scrapbooking is really about preserving memories, not creating perfect layouts...at least for me it is!

This first pocket card is designed to fit in a 4"x6" pocket.  This idea came straight from the alternate idea section of the instruction sheet from the PP Kit.  I simply changed the dimensions, colors and left off a few elements.  I started by stamping the popsicles in Staz-On Black on Shimmery White Paper.  Then I colored them in using my water painter.

The other two cards are 3" x 4".  The DSP in both this card and the 4" x 6" is from the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper.

The second 3" x 4" card is simply a watermelon stamped on Shimmery White Paper and colored in with Water Painters.  Fast and easy!

Have you heard about the Paper Pumpkin Kit for June?  It includes colors from both the 2020-2022 and 2021-2023 In Color Collections and includes not one but TWO Stampin' Spots!  This kit is designed to coordinate with the Expressions in Ink Suite.  The Expressions in Color PP Kit contains enough elements to create nine cards and coordinating envelopes.  PLUS, it arrives in a cute, colorful, and collectible box!
The stamp set in this box is all-occasion with sentiments for any season.  You can send hugs, congratulations, gratitude and smiles with this set!
Don't wait, subscribe to this kit by June 10, 2021.

When you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin and list me as your demonstrator, you will be invited to a Paper Pumpkin ZOOM class where will put the kit together and I will show you an alternate project.  This class will be at 10:00am CST the first Saturday of the month following the subscription period.

Stampin' Up! Beauty of the Earth Suite

Hello!  Welcome to my blog.  On Monday's I like to share cards that have a masculine feel to them.  The Beauty of the Earth Suite is perfect for masculine cards!  The images, colors and even the font are good choices for more masculine cards.  Although, they can also make nice cards for pretty much anybody!  This is just an all around good suite to have.

For the inside of the card, stamp 'Smile' and the smallest daisy along the bottom of the Basic White CS using Flirty Flamingo or Crushed Curry ink. Or both!
Then, attach the Basic White CS to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Pampered Pets Birthday Card

Happy Thursday!  We are getting so close to the weekend!  :)

The card I'm sharing with you today uses that adorable dog from the Pampered Pets stamp set, and a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.  This fun Designer Series Paper is from Pattern Party 12" x 12" DSP.  Love it!

The layout of this card was inspired by this sketch and photo at Fusion Card Challenge.
I decided to flip the sketch and made it a birthday card for one of my daughters' friends.

MEASUREMENTS
Basic Black Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
DSP ~ 4" x 5-1/4"
Basic Black ~ 5/8" x 4" and a scrap
Real Red ~ small scrap for the sentiment
Basic White ~ 4" x 5-1/4" (inside) and a scrap for the dog

1.  Stamp the dog using Tuxedo Memento Black ink on Basic White Cardstock
2.  Attach the strip of Basic Black CS to the DSP
3.  Use 2-3 Glue Dots to attach the ribbon over the strip of Basic Black CS
4.  Attach the DSP to the front of the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals

6.  Use coordinating die with the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine to cut out the dog
(or fussy cut with Paper Snips)
7.  Stamp 'Happy Birthday' using Versamark ink on Real Red cardstock, then set with the Heat Tool
8.  Trim around 'Happy Birthday' using Paper Snips or a Paper Trimmer.
9.  Then, mount the Real Red on a piece of Basic Black and trim again.
10.  Finish attaching the layers on the front of the card base

Stampin' Up! Sweet as a Peach Birthday Card

Hi!  Have you seen the new You're a Peach Suite Collection?  It's a beautiful collection, with stamps, dies, DSP and even small jam jars!  Today's card uses everything except the dies.

The blue used in the Designer Series Paper is Balmy Blue, but I decided to use Misty Moonlight on this card.  Partly because it's one of my favorite blues and partly because I wanted to use the Misty Moonlight twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo.

MEASUREMENTS
Misty Moonlight Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
Basic White CS ~ 4" x 5-1/4" (*2, you will need one for the inside, too), & scraps
DSP ~ 3" x 4"
Misty Moonlight CS ~ 2-3/4" x 3/4"

1.  Stamp the peach using Calypso Coral on a scrap of Basic White CS.
2.  Stamp the peach leaves using Pear Pizzazz on another scrap of Basic White CS
(or use the same piece if it's large enough)
3. Stamp 'Happy Birthday' on a scrap of Basic White CS
4.  Wrap the twine around the DSP, tie in a knot and trim
5.  Use the Banners Pick a Punch to punch the ends of the strip of Misty Moonlight
6.  Run on of the 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White CS through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine using the Bark Embossing Folder, or Embossing folder of your choice
7.  Cut out the peach and leaves with the coordinating dies
8.  Trim around the 'Happy Birthday', then glue on the strip of Misty Moonlight CS
9. Attach the layers using adhesives of your choice

For the inside, stamp the sentiment using Misty Moonlight and Calypso Coral.
Stamp tiny flowers on the bottom corner using Calypso Coral.
Attach the stamped on Basic White CS to the inside of your card with adhesive of your choice.
