Stampin' Up! Amazing Silhouettes ~ Thank You Card

This has been a great week of creating with Stampin' Up!'s Amazing Silhouettes stamps, my stamp set of the week.  As I said earlier this week, this stamp set has almost endless possibilities, even though it's only three, fairly simple images.

When Amazing Silhouettes was first released it was offered as part of a bundle with Amazing Thanks Dies.  These dies are, of course, perfect with this stamp set, and many, many others!  I love having my sentiment large on the front of cards.  These dies make creating them quick and easy.

Stampin' Up! Amazing Silhouettes ~ Using Paper Scraps

Hi!  Are you often looking for ways to use up scraps?  I usually end up with scraps from 4"-6" x 1/2"-3", this is a great way to use those up!  Mix at match with other scraps from the same Designer Series Paper package or plain cardstock.  For this card, I trimmed anything that was too high to 3/4", then trimmed the width, where needed, after adhering them to my background piece.

MEASUREMENTS
Card Base ~ Thick Basic White Cardstock ~ 4-1/4" x 11", score at 5-1/2"

Stampin' Up! Amazing Silhouettes ~ Birthday Card

Today's card was inspired by my Stamp Set of the Week ~ Amazing Silhouettes and Sunday Stamps Challenge 299, which happens to be a color challenge.  The photo below shows the challenge colors and inspiration photo.

I interpreted these colors as Night of Navy, Rich Razzleberry, Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron and Smoky Slate.  Although, I do think Gorgeous Grape could be subbed for the Rich Razzleberry.

I started by using the mask on the card base.  I like to use some kind of removable tape to hold down my card base and the mask.  For the card base, I doubled over a piece of the tape and placed it behind it to hold it to my grid paper.  Then, I placed four pieces of tape around the edges of the mask to keep it from moving.  Washi tape works for this, but this time I chose to use this Scotch Delicate Surface Tape we had left over from a painting project.  I used a Blending Brush to blend Smoky Slate ink over the card front.

The image was stamped with Versamark, then Heat Embossed with White Embossing Powder.  After that, I used Sponge Daubers to add the colors.  Keep a microfiber cloth handy to wipe off excess ink between each color.

A fun option is to use the mask again for the inside of the card, keeping it pretty light and fading away completely near the top.  This is also a great way to decorate the flap of the envelope. I do recommend going a little darker on the envelope flap.

Stampin' Up! Amazing Silhouettes

This week's Stamp Set of the Week is Amazing Silhouettes, which can be found on p. 72 of the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.  This is a fantastic set that is actually a lot more versatile than it might first appear.

This card is fairly simply, requiring only a bit of simple stamping, Scalloped Contours Dies and the Banners Pick-a-Punch.  It's a beautiful card with a layout that can be used for many different stamp sets.  One of the things I love about this one is that the sentiment, which is from Go To Greetings, can easily be swapped out for almost any occasion.

MEASUREMENTS
Card Base ~ Coastal Cabana Cardstock ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"
Layer 1 ~ Pretty Prints DSP ~ 3-1/2" x 3-1/2"

Stampin' Up! Count on Me ~ Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Hey Stampers & Friends!  Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop.  I'm excited to be part of this fun and creative group sharing stamping ideas with you today!

This month's color & inspiration challenges come from the photo below.  This time I didn't get much inspiration from this unique photo.  However, the color inspiration was perfect!  I'll tell you why...

My high school mascot was a blue kangaroo, and my stamp set of the week is Count on Me, which includes a kangaroo stamp!  I found this a great opportunity to create a card with a blue kangaroo and other fun colored animals.  In fact, since I still live in my hometown, and our mascot is still a blue kangaroo, maybe I need to create more cards with this blue 'roo!

MEASURMENTS
Card Base ~ Thick Basic White Cardstock ~ 6-1/4" x 6-1/2", score at 3-1/4"
Layer 1 ~ Pacific Point Cardstock ~ 3" x 6"
Layer 2 ~ Basic White Cardstock ~ 2-3/4" x 5-3/4"
Layer 3 ~ Pacific Point Cardstock ~ approximately 3-1/4" x 1"

Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Count on Me ~ here for you

Hi!  Today's card was inspired by this simply wonderful sketch from Global Design Project.  I love how versatile a simple sketch like this one can be.  There's still plenty of time for you to join this sketch challenge!

There wasn't enough room on my die cut cardstock to stamp both images without squishing them, so I stamped and colored my images first.  Then, I fussy cut just the kangaroo's tail.  When I used the die, I slipped the 'roo tail over the top of the die before carefully running it partway through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.  Then, I turned the die & cardstock and ran the rest of it through, avoiding running the part with the tail completely through.

Stampin' Up! Count on Me

This sweet card features Stampin' Up!'s Count on Me stamps and takes just a few minutes to put together.  I love these pastel colors, Fresh Freesia, Coral Calypso, Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green, but of course you can choose your favorite colors for this fun and easy background.

I tried to keep my water painter from getting too wet, since I opted to use Basic White Cardstock for the background instead of going with something a little more suitable for water coloring, like Shimmery White Cardstock or Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  The heart was water colored with Fresh Freesia, and again, the water painter was only slightly wet.

Be sure to let the background completely dry before stamping the sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

MEASUREMENTS
Card Base ~ Coastal Cabana Cardstock ~ 11" x 4-1/4", score at 5-1/2"

Stampin' Up! In the Moment ~ Sketch Saturday

Today's card was inspired by Sketch Saturday's Sketch #716!  To make this sketch a little bit easier to use with my Stamp Set of the Week, In the Moment, I turned it and slid the oval over a bit.  It is perfectly acceptable with most sketch challenges to alter the sketch to fit your needs.

This time I colored the image with Watercolor Pencils, then blended my coloring with Blender Pens.  I love this easy way to color.  For her skin tone I used a combination of Calypso Coral and Early Espresso.  For the railing I used Early Espresso with Basic Gray.  Her hair is Basic Black, her dress & hat are Gorgeous Grape with Bermuda Bay accents.  The wine is Melon Mambo.

MEASUREMENTS
Card Base ~ Night of Navy Cardstock ~ 11" x 4-1/4", score at 5-1/2"

Stampin' Up! In the Moment Fun Fold ~ Casually Crafting Blog Hop

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by!  Today I'm taking part in a blog hop with the Casually Crafting Design Team!  We are an international group of Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who want to share our take on casual crafting.  We will share what we love with you monthly.  Be sure to check out the rests of the design team's projects using the links at the bottom of this post.

This month we are doing a Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  One of the great things about this type of challenge is that there's so many options!  I chose to do the middle column: Fun Fold, Sparkle, Purple.

The purple made me think about Stampin' Up!'s 2023 January - April Mini Catalog since the cover is purple!  So, I stamped the book on a scrap of Subtle Designer Series Paper, then fussy cut around it.  To add a little bit of sparkle, I also carefully added Wink of Stella to the cut out book!

When stamping with this particular stamp from In the Moment stamps, I like to emphasize the 'relaxing' bits. To do this I colored the lady's face, hair and fingers, the puppy, book and cup while keeping the blankets and clothes a very subtle gray.

MEASUREMENTS
Card Base ~ Smoky Slate Cardstock ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8"
Layer 1 ~ Subtle DSP ~ 5-1/4" x 1-7/8" (*2)
Layer 2 ~ Smoky Slate Cardstock ~ 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" and 2-1/8" x 1-3/8"
Layer 3 ~ Basic White Cardstock ~ 3" x 3" and 2" x 1-1/4"
Inside Layer ~ Basic White Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4"

Stampin' Up! In the Moment ~ Sending Support

The card I'm sharing with you today features Stampin' Up!'s In the Moment Stamps alongside a mask from Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and a brand new stamp set, Sending Support, that will not be available until January 5th.  This stamp set is full of sentiments to let your people know you are thinking about them and are there for them.  Even better, it's a Sale-a-bration set, so will be a FREE option with a $100 purchase January 5th-February 28th. (while supplies last)

This layout was inspired by the above sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  If you don't already follow their blog, I suggest you check them out for lots of sketchy inspiration! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I thought this mask was perfect for the background of this card, since it reminds me of a window pane.  I used Mango Melody and a Blending Brush over the mask, starting at the top and working my way down, to create a bit of an ombre effect.  Then, I repeated the effect, just in the upper corner of the inside piece.

Stampin' Up! In the Moment

The simple layers on this card featuring Stampin' Up!'s In the Moment Stamps really create something special with this one.  Even with all the different techniques used on this card, it is still pretty simple, with lots of opportunity to learn something new.

For the red background piece, I started by adding Real Red ink to Basic White Cardstock with a Blending Brush.  Each time I added more ink, I started at the top and worked my way down.  This made the top a darker shade than the bottom of the cardstock.  Then, I used my medium Water Painter to splatter Liquid Glue on the piece.  The first time I didn't wait long enough before adding the Gilded Leafing, so I got some water spots...which adds to the texture, I think.  The second time, I made sure to wait longer before adding the Gilded Leafing.  (This is one of my favorite techniques...I show how it's done in this YouTube video)

The image was water colored using Water Painters and Classic Stampin' Pads.  Before opening your pads, squeeze them to grab a little ink in the lid.  Then, only open them partway so you can use the lids as your ink palettes.
