Stampin'' Up! Heartfelt Hexagon - Sketch Saturday

Hello and welcome to my blog!  This card was created for Sketch Saturday's Challenge #743. Today is the first day of this challenge, you have two weeks to play along.

The twist that goes along with this sketch is to use your favorite stamp.  I would not know where to begin with that twist…I have SO many ‘favorite’ stamps!  So I used a few of my current favorite things on this card.

Butterflies are one of my favorite things and until now I haven’t had a chance to use my new Paper Butterflies from Stampin’ Up!  These butterflies come in white so you can color them whatever color you wish.  On the front of my card I used a Blending Brush to add a bit of Highland Heather to the butterfly.  (Purple is another favorite!)

On the inside I used one of the butterflies as a stencil, again using the Blending Brush to add a touch of Highland Heather, this time around the butterfly.  Bonus, now I have another slightly purple butterfly ready to use on another project!

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  Take a look at the other cards created for this sketch challenge from Sketch Saturday, then play along and share your creation with us!

Happy Stamping!

Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Hexagons ~ Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Hey Stampers & Friends! Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop.  I’m excited to be part of this fun & creative group sharing stamping ideas with you today!

Our color challenge and photo inspiration for this month can be found in the photo below.  This might be my favorite ever, it’s definitely my favorite so far this year! (Lol) The flowers and colors just give off happy vibes!  This color scheme has some of my favorite colors in it, and I love how they look together.

I was inspired by both the photo and the colors above for today’s card.  I was also inspired by the shaker card on p. 12 of the 2024 January - April Mini Catalog.  I have been wanting to make that card since the first time I saw it. with a few changes, it was perfect for this challenge!

Instead of using Designer Series Paper (which I love), the background was created by using Blending Brushes to blend ALL of the challenge colors on the Basic White card base.  Be sure to stamp the sentiment before using the Basics 3D Embossing Folder on the front panel.  To apply the sequins to the front of the card, just add a tiny dab of Liquid Glue, then place a sequin on it.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Be sure to hop along with the links below for more card making inspiration.

Stampin' Up! Softly Sophisticated - Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog!  I'm excited to be joining the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop today.  I love being a part of these fun Blog Hops with other stampers sharing what we love and create!  Links to all the other blog posts for this hop are near the end of this post! - be sure to check them out! Hopefully you will be as inspired as I always am seeing what everyone else creates for this month's challenge.

This month we had a double challenge.  First was to create a card based on the sketch below.  The second part of the challenge was to add some sparkle and shine. I can't wait to see what the rest of the stampers in this hop do with this sketch

I like square cards, but I don't have square envelopes and I much prefer it when my card and envelope fit together.  To get around this issue, when I'm creating with a square sketch as my inspiration, I like to add a book fold to my card.  That way, I can use the square part as-is with just a little something extra on the side.

For the sparkle and shine part of this challenge I thought some gold elements would be fun.   I started by adding a scrap of Most Adored DSP to the side of the card.  On the square part, I added Gilded Leafing to strips of Tear & Tape and little dots of Liquid Glue.  I finished by using Gold Embossing Powder to heat emboss the sentiment.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope you are leaving inspired!  Click the image below to hop along to the next blog for more inspiration.

Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Softly Sophisticated ~ Sketch Saturday

Hello and welcome to my blog!  This card was created for Sketch Saturday's Challenge #742. Today is the first day of this challenge, you have two weeks to play along.

The bonus challenge for this sketch was to use up some scraps.  I love this, because I ALWAYS have scraps of pretty paper that I just do NOT want to throw away! This sketch is great because you can use the same design and make it a little bigger or smaller, depending on the size of your scraps.

Usually, bright colors are my favorite, but I am really loving the sweet softer colors on this card, which were inspired by the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  Be sure to visit the Sketch Saturday Blog as well, for more inspiration.  We would love it if you would play along and share your creation with us.

3 Completely Different Handmade Cards with one Simple Layout

During December 2023 I shared a card tutorial on YouTube showing how to make the 'Explore' card and the 'Sending' card shown above.  (Click HERE to watch the video) The 'Sending' card is one I CASE'd (Copy and Share Everything) from the Annual Catalog.  The other two cards were inspired by the layout of the first one from the catalog.

Next Destination is the stamp set used on this card.  It just seemed to fit better when I turned the original layout sideways for a horizontal card. This one has travel vibes, which my husband and I are very into these days.  It also is masculine, which I love, since masculine cards can be a little more tricky to create sometimes.

This third card just might be my favorite!  In my YouTube Card Tutorial, this completed card is shown at the end of the video.  However, I did not share how to make the card, since at the time it was a sneak peek of products.  Those products are now available!  I will share the supply list for this card at the end of the post.

There are a couple of things you need to know about this one. First, that gorgeous paper with the gold hearts is just one of the designs in Most Adored Designer Series Paper.  That DSP is part of Sale-a-bration, which means you can get it FREE (with a qualifying purchase) through February 2024, or while supplies last.

Second, the 'thanks' is stamped with Real Red ink on Basic White Cardstock, then fussy cut.  After cutting it out the first time, I glued it to a scrap of Real Red Cardstock, then fussy cut around the word again.

I hope one or all of these cards, or this simple layout, inspires you to create something wonderful!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog.

Create Handmade Cards with Stampin' Up!'s Zany Zoo & Bee My Valentine

Handmade cards with Stampin' Up!'s Zany Zoo and Stampin' Up!'s Bee My Valentine

Last month I shared a few card tutorials on YouTube, that I ended up not having time to share on my blog.  I’m going to use this week to catch up on that, beginning with these two cards I shared in the video titled Stampin’ Up! Festive & Fun Christmas Card.

Did you notice that neither of these cards use the Festive & Fun stamp set?  I opted not to share it here since that set has already retired. Zany Zoo will still be available for at least a few more months and Bee My Valentine is a brand new set in the 2024 January - April Mini Catalog.

Handmade card with Stampin' Up!'s Zany Zoo by Judith Patterson

Zany Zoo is one of my favorite stamp sets from the 2023- 2024 Annual Catalog.  I always like the fun sets that feature animals doing people things.  These are fun for kids of all ages and pretty much anyone who likes animals.  Watch the video mentioned above to learn how to make this card.

Near the end of the video I shared a sneak peek of this card featuring Bee My Valentine.  I did not show how to make it since it wasn’t available for purchase yet.  The instructions are very similar to those of the other two cards shared in the video.  The coordinating Build a Bee Punch is perfect for using on it’s own for punching hearts or a conversation bubble.  Of course, it’s also great for using with the stamp set.

A Couple of Handmade Cards with Stampin' Up!'s Painted Lavender Bundle

Stampin' Up! Painted Lavender Handmade Cards in Gorgeous Grape and Pretty Peacock

Did you catch my YouTube video last night?  In it, I shared how to create these two cards using a few supplies from the NEW 2024 Mini Stampin’ Up! Catalog AND the FREE Softly Sophisticated Bundle from Sale-a-bration.

Of course, this is just an example of what you could order to receive a Sale-a-bration FREE with $100 Purchase item.  Any $100 purchase (before tax and shipping) will qualify you to get a Sale-a-bration FREE with $100 purchase item OR TWO Free with $50 purchase items.  There’s SO MANY great Sale-a-bration options this year!  It’s hard to choose.

Stampin' Up! Painted Lavender Handmade Card

This first card was inspired by a card from the Mini Catalog, which can be found on p.20. I love this card, but don’t have the stamp set used in the catalog and thought it would be a perfect layout for Painted Lavender.   This is a quick and easy layout, which could be made even faster if you choose to just stamp the sentiment instead of Heat Embossing.

Purple is my favorite color, so of course I decided to stick with the colors I used in the first card for this second one.  In fact, I also added another shade of purple, Highland Heather, to this one. This one is a tad more time consuming, but not too much and totally worth the extra little bit of time.  Did I mention butterflies are also my favorite?  There was never any doubt that I would be purchasing the entire Perennial Lavender Suite.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope one of these cards, or maybe the color combination, has inspired your creativity.
