Alcohol Ink Background with Stampin' Blends

Hello and welcome to my blog!  This card was so much fun to make and I feel really accomplished for figuring out how to create gorgeous backgrounds like this one.  😉  To be fair, I watched a few YouTube videos while learning this.  My favorite was this one by Michele Jutrisa.

MEASUREMENTS

Blackberry Bliss Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/5", score at 4-1/4"

Gold Foil Sheet ~ 5-1/4" x 4"

Vellum Cardstock ~ 5-1/8" x 4"

Basic White Cardstock ~ 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" and 5-1/4" x 4" (inside)

• Start by adding a little scribble of ink to the Vellum with a Stampin' Blend. (I alternated between Dark Night of Navy and Dark Blackberry Bliss). 
• Use a paintbrush to dab a bit of 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to the ink, then blow it around with a straw, Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Air Blower, or a camera air blower (which is what I used)
• Repeat the first two steps until you have the amount of color you would like on your background
• Stamp the flower on the Vellum using Versamark ink, cover it with Gold Embossing Powder then set with the Heat Tool.
• Repeat the previous steps to add the sentiment to the bottom corner of the Vellum.
• Attach the Vellum to the Basic White CS using Stampin' Seal +
• Use your favorite adhesive to attach the Basic White CS to the Gold Foil Sheet.
• Attach the Gold Foil Sheet to the Card Base
• For the inside, I added the 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White CS for a nice surface to write a message.

Stampin' Up! Biggest Wish Card - Using up scraps

 

Hello & welcome to my tiny piece of the internet!  It's Monday, that means it's time for a masculine card on my blog.  I'm silly excited about this card.  I hate throwing away my pretty paper scraps, don't you!?  So, this is a fantastic way to use up some of them.  All the scraps I used on this card are from Pattern Party Designer Series Paper, but you could use pretty much any scraps. 

MEASUREMENTS

Basic Black Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"

Misty Moonlight Cardstock ~ 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"

Basic White Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4" (*2)

Pattern Party DSP ~ scraps 

• Use the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend to color 6 or 7 Clear Epoxy Essentials Drops.  
• Stamp Happy Birthday using Misty Moonlight ink at the top of your Basic White CS
• Mix and match your scraps and attach 6 or 7 of them to the bottom of your Basic White CS, it's okay if they hang off the bottom.  (Leave room for the epoxy drops above them) Once all your pieces are attached, trim the bottoms off and save them for the inside. 
• Attach the Misty Moonlight CS to the center of the front of your card base.  
• Attach the Basic White CS to the Misty Moonlight CS
• Add the epoxy drops above the strips of scraps.  

Attach the bottom bits of your scraps to the other piece of Basic White CS for the inside of the card.  Use the same Daffodil Delight Blend to draw flames above the 'candles'.  Attach the Basic White CS to the inside of your card.
