Stampin' Up True Love

Hi!  Welcome to my blog!  I hope the card I am sharing with you today makes you smile!  :)
This card started with this lovely sketch challenge from The Spot.  Sometimes when I see a sketch, a card just instantly pops in my head!  This was definitely one of those times.

I started by cutting this gorgeous True Love Designer Series Paper to the sizes I wanted.
Did you know Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper is double-sided?  The diagonal stripes are on the opposite side of these flowers.
DSP dimensions for this card ~ 4" x 5-1/4" and 2" x 4-1/4"

After cutting the DSP, I colored the flowers.  I chose to use Stampin' Blends.
(The colors I used are in the Product List at the bottom of this post)

After coloring, I decided to add a layer of Pool Party Cardstock behind the DSP.
The Pool Party layers from largest to smallest are
4-1/8" x 5-3/8"
2-1/8" x 4-3/8"
1-1/2" x 3/4"
The small strip of Basic Black Cardstock is 1/2" x 2"

I was so excited to see that Stampin' Up! is bringing back Black Stampin' Emboss Powder!  This is the color I use the most when embossing, I think.  Doesn't it make the 'Smile' really stand out on this card!?
Once the new catalog goes live (May 4), you will be able to purchase Black Stampin' Emboss Powder in a package with Clear and White Emboss Powders. (Don't want to wait until May 4th? Talk to me about Joining Stampin' Up! so you can order from the new catalog now!  Ordering early is one of my favorite perks!)

For the inside, I stamped the small daisy from the Daisy Lane stamp set and colored it with Stampin' Blends.  I suggest always adding a layer of light colored cardstock (I always use Very Vanilla or Basic White) to the inside of dark cards.  Of course, if you are planning to use a white gel pen to write inside, this step isn't necessary.

This is the full set of True Love Designer Series Paper.  It is 12 sheets of double-sided patterned paper.
If you like to color, I highly recommend this DSP!  It is very relaxing to color the pages, and so satisfying to create with those pages later.  Of course, the images are stunning as they are, too!

I am preparing to mail out new catalogs tomorrow.  If you don't currently have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, live in the USA and would like a catalog, let me know.  I will be happy to send you one!
Happy Stamping!
