Stampin' Up! Sentimental Park with Something Fancy

What is it about a single flower that is so special?  I'm not sure what it is, but sometimes one flower can make more of a statement than a bunch!  This sweet flower image is from Sentimental Park stamps and stamped in Parakeet Party and Polished Pink.

To prevent weird warps in the cardstock, I used Stampin' Dimensionals behind the corners of the sentiment piece so it would sit nicely over the twine.  Then, I added one dimensional behind the leaf on the right and stacked two behind the left leaf and two more behind the flower.

Stampin' Up! Sentimental Park ~ thinking of you

This week the Stamp of the Week here on my blog is Stampin' Up!'s Sentimental Park.  This pretty stamp set includes fun floral images along with a sentiment for almost any occasion.

The first card I'm sharing with you is one I cased from the 2023 January - April Mini Catalog.  You will find the original card on p. 30.

I made a few changes, but kept the basic layout of the original card and the gorgeous color scheme.  I did replace one bit of Designer Series Paper with Shaded Spruce Cardstock.  I also changed the embellishments to the 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds, which will be retiring very soon.

Stampin' Up! Best Day ~ Sketch Saturday

Today's card was created for Sketch Saturday's Challenge #722.    Today (March 24, 2023) is the first day of this challenge, you have two weeks to play along.  There's an optional challenge of using buttons on your card this time.  I didn't have any buttons to use.  I would love to see what you create, and if you add buttons to your project, so please share over on the Sketch Saturday Blog

At first I wasn't completely sure about this color combination.  My original plan for my cake color was Blushing Bride, but I don't have Stampin' Blends in that color, so ended up going with Petal Pink for my card, DSP & cake color.  I think it worked, what do you think?

It's hard to see in the photo, but I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the candles to give it some fun little sparkle.  I used a tiny piece of a sticky note to cover up the ends of the candles when I stamped the cake, so they didn't show up on my stamped image.  Then, I closely trimmed around the cake and finished it by going around the edges with the edge of the brush tip on my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.

Stampin' Up! Best Day ~ DIY Birthday Card

Yesterday, I finally completely colored the cake image from my Best Day stamps, today I've colored the 'cupcat'  haha!  This is such a fun image and I had a lot of fun picking out a color scheme for this one.  After perusing my Designer Series Paper stash, I decided to use this great piece from Flowers & More DSP.   From there, I decided I wanted my cat to be Calypso Coral and I chose Gray Granite as my neutral so I could use my Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon.

Do you ever stress out about the perfect placement of embellishments?  I definitely overthink it sometimes!  This time, I just sprinkled Sparkle & Shine Sequins over my card, then glued them where they fell!  I've done enough thinking this week...I wanted the easy button for this card. lol

Stampin' Up! Best Day ~ Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Hey Stampers & Friends!  Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop.  I'm excited to be part of this fun and creative group sharing stamping ideas with you today!

Our color challenge and photo inspiration for this month can be found in the photo below.  I LOVE all these gorgeous bright colors (and TULIPS).  This time though, I decided to just use three of the colors.  For some reason this week, I'm feeling like less is more.

If you've been following along on my blog all week, you know that while I was excited about coloring the images in this Best Day stamp set, I haven't been doing a lot of coloring.  Until today!  I finally fully colored one of them, and I love it!  What do you think?

I heat embossed the birthday banner with Black Embossing Powder on Polished Pink Cardstock, then used my Paper Snips to tightly (and carefully) cut around it.  Then, it was easy to add to my card with a few Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope my card has inspired you and/or brightened your day!  You are currently visiting Judith Patterson.  Please see the list below and hop through all of the people on the list so you don't miss any projects!

Stampin' Up! Best Day ~ Handmade Birthday Card

I know, I know.  I still didn't color much of this card.  However, sometimes it's fun to add just little pops of color here and there, don't you agree?!?

Can you see the sparkles from the Glimmer Paper shining through the holes in the top piece of Orchid Oasis Cardstock?  It's even better in person!

The Basic White banner is just the tiniest bit under 1" wide.  The Parakeet Party banner is 1-1/16" wide.  I punched both using my Banners Pick a Punch.  This punch is only made to punch up 1", but I've found if I turn it upside down and center my cardstock up without putting it through the guides, I can get the extra 1/16" for a nice little border.

Stampin' Up! Best Day ~ Birthday Card

When I first opened up my Best Day stamp set from Stampin' Up!, I thought of all the fun ways I could color it.  Then, I surprised myself by starting off my week with this set by only using Basic Black, Basic White & Fresh Freesia!  I just thought it was the perfect way to use this sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  In my opinion, pretty much any single color paired with just Black and White looks great!  Of course, purple...ALL the purples...is/are my favorite!

To create the purple background for the cake, I placed my Basic White Cardstock on my Grid Paper and taped down the edges with craft tape.  It was then easy to blend some Fresh Freesia ink, gradually getting lighter the closer to the center I got.

Be careful when pulling the craft tape up.  I got a little hasty and ended up with a tiny boo-boo on the edge of my Basic White Cardstock.  To cover it up, I just added a small bow with the coordinating Basic Black Twine.

Stampin' Up! Petal Park ~ Casually Crafting Blog Hop

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by!  Today I'm taking part in a blog hop with the Casually Crafting Design Team!  We are an international group of Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who want to share our take on casual crafting.  We will share what we love with you monthly.  Be sure to check out the rests of the design team's projects using the links at the bottom of this post.

This month we have a color challenge, inspired by the photo below.  Such a sweet little bird!  The colors in the challenge are Pacific Point, So Saffron and Soft Suede.  Other than Pacific Point, these are not typically my 'Go To' colors.  However, I do really like this combination.

My Stamp Set of the Week is Petal Park this week, so that's the set I'm using for this challenge, also.  Sometimes decisions are hard. (lol)  It's nice that I didn't have to decide which stamps to use, or even what colors for this card.

I stamped the outlines in Soft Suede, then used the other colors for the fill in stamp.  I also used a couple of drops of Pacific Point Ink Refill & a tiny bit of alcohol & water to dye my ribbon blue.  It turns out the best adhesive when adhering ribbon you have dyed is Stampin' Seal or Stampin' Seal+.  A lot of trial and error went into getting it to stick well on my card and tag.  I did also attach some Stampin' Dimensionals under the tag to pop it up.

I hope you enjoyed my card and were maybe even inspired by it.  Now, take a few minutes and 'hop' on over to the rest of the blogs in the list below!

Happy Hopping! (and Stamping!!)

Stampin' Up! Petal Park with Split Card Textures Dies

Today's card is one of my favorites this week.  For this one I combined Petal Park stamps with Split Card Textures Dies.  This is the only card this week where I didn't pop up the flowers with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I like the look, but definitely prefer them popped up.  What do you think?

I have been wanting the new Dragonfly Trinkets since the new Mini Catalog was released in January.  Actually, as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I got to see the catalog early, so I've really been wanting them longer than that.  For some reason, I kept forgetting to order them.  So, imagine excitement that I actually got to use one on this card today!  :)   Maybe that's why this card is one of my favorites for the week!

Stampin' Up! Petal Park ~ Handmade Birthday Card

Tuesday I posted a card with DIY 'designer series paper' as the main focus of the card.  Today, I've again created DIY 'DSP', this time as the base of the card.  I used Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to draw thick-ish lines diagonally across my card base.  I wasn't worried at all about keeping them perfectly straight or uniform in width.  I feel like this makes my card a little more whimsical and/or 'artsy'.  It definitely makes each one like this one of a kind.

The tiny strip of ribbon behind the sentiment is just another added splash of color.  I used my Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blend to color the ribbon before adding it to my card with about an inch of Tear & Tape.

Stampin' Up! Petal Park ~ How to Create DIY Patterned Paper

Petal Park is a very versatile stamp set, perfect for pairing with any sentiment from any stamp set.  On this card, which I've created for a 'dear friend,' I have used sentiments from Sentiment Park stamps by Stampin' Up! The inside says 'thinking of YOU.'  (Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the inside)

I've used the smaller stamps from Petal Park to create my own patterned paper by stamping each one randomly, multiple times.  I used the tiny dots stamp to fill in any white spaces.  This is a great way to make patterned paper in whatever color scheme you are working with!

Stampin' Up!'s Petal Park ~ Stamp Set of the Week

Hello!  This week, all week, I am featuring Stampin' Up!'s Petal Park stamp set here on my blog.  This two-step floral stamp set has a coordinating punch for the main three flowers.  As you can see, I used it for this simple birthday card.

The color combination for this card was inspired by the colors in the Solid Faceted Gems.  I used cardstock in all but one of the colors included in this fun embellishment set.  Then, I also used the coordinating gems.

This is a good way to use up some scraps.  My smallest scrap was 4" wide, so that's how wide I cut a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock.  I then glued each scrap on the white cardstock and trimmed off the extra. Once that was finished, I ran it all through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine in one the new Basics 3D Embossing Folders.

Stampin' Up! Irresistible Blooms ~ Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog!  I'm excited to be joining the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop today.  I love being a part of these fun Blog Hops with other stampers sharing what we love and create!  Links to all the other blog posts for this hop are near the end of this post! - be sure to check them out! Hopefully you will be as inspired as I always am seeing what everyone else creates for this month's challenge.

This month's challenge is a technique challenge...creating with dies!  I love dies and use them in at least half of my projects, maybe more.  This was a great challenge.  I hope you learn something new about dies from the posts in this blog hop.  (Maybe I will, too!)

The three ways I use dies most are to cut out coordinating stamped images, to cut out my sentiments, and to add a bit of texture/dimension to my projects.  This card is a perfect example of all three of these uses.
The flowers and leaves were stamped then cut out with the coordinating dies.
The sentiment was stamped on the die cut hexagon piece.
A little texture/dimension was added to my card by adhering the die cut glimmer paper.  The die for this are from the new Irresistible Blooms Dies.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  Click the 'Next blog' image below for more inspiration along this Blog Hop.
