Stampin' Up! Abstract Beauty ~ Sketch Saturday

Hello!  Today's card was inspired by sketch 695 from Sketch Saturday.  This week's sketch challenge just started today, so you have plenty of time to join the fun!

I thought it would be fun to use the hexagons from Abstract Beauty for this one instead of circles.  I love the Adhesive Backed Hexagon Shapes that are part of the Abstract Beauty Suite.  Actually, I love everything about the Abstract Beauty Suite!  The prints in the Designer Series Paper are so much fun and full of great colors with gold foil accents.

I love the sentiments in this stamp set.  They are not your typical stamped greetings and are so perfect.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Make a set (or two) of 3" cards ~ Cards from the Catalog

Happy Fri-Yay!  I had so much fun making these little 3" cards that I may have gone a bit overboard!  I ended up making 2 sets of these cards.  Each set fit into its own little 3" Acetate Card Box.

Aren't these beautiful?  I made the card from the catalog first, using Petal Pink & Calypso Coral...then I got a little carried away making other color combinations.  What color combination would you like to do?

This set of cards uses the incredible Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder.  It's so cool, because it embosses AND cuts out the heart at the same time!  Plus, I used the Calming Camellia stamp set for the flower image.  I chose to use Celebrating You stamps with the banner die from Tasteful Labels Dies so I could have cards for several occasions!

Of course, I didn't stop there.  I also made these 3" cards from the catalog.  Why make so many tiny cards?  Well, it's kind of addicting.  They are quick and simple to make.  This is a very handy card size to have on hand to toss into gift bags.  PLUS, they are great for using up those small scraps of cardstock and Designer Series Paper I often have hanging around.

The background on the butterfly card was made by using Blending Brushes with Daffodil Delight and Polished Pink ink.  Then, I stamped the butterflies from Catching Butterflies over the background. The tag is from Tasteful Labels Dies.

The rainbow card uses the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP, Cloud Punch and Rainbow of Happiness Bundle.  To make the rainbow, I used the Rainbow Die to cut out a rainbow in each color - Magenta Madness, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green & Bermuda Bay.  I saved the extra rainbow pieces to use on another project.  I might just make 3 more of this card for another little set of cards!

The bird card features Friendly Hello stamps and DSP, plus Expressions in Ink Ephemera.  The flowers were stamped on Fluid 100 Watercolor paper with Staz-on ink, then watercolored with Fresh Freesia and Pale Papaya.

I used Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper and Stitched Triangle Dies to make the final card. The words are from A Wish for Everything stamp set... I heat embossed them with White Embossing Powder before trimming around them and attaching them with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

What do you think about these 3" cards?  Too cute or too tiny?  Did I also mention they make great gifts when bundled up in the little acetate card boxes?

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.

Easy Card Layout to Use Your DSP

Hello!  Welcome to my blog.  Thanks for visiting.  ;)  Today I'm sharing an idea for you to use your DSP.  With this simple card layout you can make horizontal cards or vertical cards (See my two vertical examples at the end of this post).  You can use pretty much any DSP, sentiment stamp and punch.

I love that four patterns from the DSP can be used on this one card.

Leftover scraps?  Use a 1/2" strip to spruce up the inside of the card.  I also like to decorate the envelope flap with the DSP.

Here's a couple of more ideas, both also using the Best Year Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!  It's such a great stamp set for almost any occasion.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope you leave inspired to use some of your beautiful Designer Series Paper!  I'm including a clickable list of products I used at the end of this post for you, to make shopping easy. ;)

Stampin' Up! Awesome Otters card

Happy Day!  Aren't these otters cute?  There are three otters in the Awesome Otters stamp set from Stampin' Up!  They are so adorable I decided to use them all on this card...one on the front, one inside and one on the envelope.

It's fun to combine this set with other Stampin' Up! products for water themed cards.  For this one, I embossed a piece of Simply Marbleous DSP with the Bark 3D Embossing Folder to make it look like water.  Then, I added a bit of seaweed from the Smooth Sailing Dies.  Notice the little pebbles on the front.  Aren't those cool!?  They are adhesive backed and come in three colors.

I colored the otters with Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Blends...I've used different browns for them before, but I think this is my favorite.  For the water, I used Balmy Blue to match the cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment with Misty Moonlight, but you could absolutely use Tuxedo Black Memento ink for this.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope you leave inspired to get creative!  I'm including a clickable list of products I used at the end of this post for you, to make shopping easy. ;)

Box of Tags

Hi!  Do you use a lot of tags?  I find myself using them more and more often, so I decided it's high time to keep some on hand.  I love the colors and patterns on the Friendly Hello DSP, so decided to use it along with Sweet Ice Cream stamps to create some fun and colorful tags.

I ended up with 12 different tags (15 total).  Next time I might just pick my favorite 6 and make double.  I just love all the variety!  Stampin' Up's Tailor Made Tags Dies make creating tags fast and easy!  I love the extra detail from the dies around every tag.

Watch my video tutorial to learn how to make the box organizer for these tags to be stored in.

Stampin' Up! Island Vibes

hello sunshine!  I'm loving the warm sunny weather we are having lately!  I wish we could hang onto it for a bit longer, but it looks like cold and snowy weather is heading our way in a day or two.  I'm going to keep this card handy until it blows over!  I like have things that brighten my day and remind of me of sunshine close by.

Did you know you can use Stampin' Write Markers to color directly on Stampin' Up!'s cling stamps?  This was one of the first stamping techniques I learned and I still love it, over 15 years later!  It's so easy to do and adds so much versatility to your stamping.  I recommend starting with the lighter color first, and working your way to the darkest color.  After coloring on the stamp, 'huff' on the stamp to make sure the ink is all moist, then stamp as usual.  This pineapple stamp is perfect for this technique!

I ended up adding the pineapple to the inside of the card AND to the front of the envelope!  I think I'm going to have to talk my husband into grilling some pineapple slices soon. It sounds so yummy, and I haven't eaten grilled pineapple since last summer!

Stampin' Up! Friendly Hello ~ Casually Crafting Blog Hop

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by!  Today I'm taking part in a blog hop with the Casually Crafting Design Team!  We are an international group of Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who want to share our take on casual crafting.  We will share what we love with you monthly.  Be sure to check out the rests of the design team's projects using the links at the bottom of this post.

Isn't this a pretty flower photo!?  It's the inspiration behind our Casually Crafting Color Challenge this month.  We are using the three colors in the photo for our projects...Fresh Freesia, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive.  This is such a pretty combination that I'm not sure I would have put together on my own!

I used the FREE Friendly Hello stamps and Designer Series Paper from Sale-a-bration to create my casual card.  I kept it pretty simple, with straight cuts, no fussy cutting and no dies, so it will be easy peasy to recreate!  After stamping the image on Basic White Cardstock, I used Blender Pens with ink pads to color it in.

I like to have a fun bit of sparkle on my cards, so I added a couple of Opal Rounds in the corner.  For a little extra sparkle and to give the card a more complete look, I used Glittered Organdy Ribbon to wrap around the lower part of the DSP and tied a bow.

I don't like leaving the insides of cards blank, so I stamped the smaller flower inside and colored it in to match the flowers on the front.

Thank you for visiting my blog!  Don't forget to swing by the other blogs in this hop to see the creativeness of my fellow team members!

Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Rainbow of Happiness ~ Card from the Catalog

Happy Friday!  This week's card from the catalog is once again from the Sale-a-bration brochure.  It can be found on p. 15 and uses the Special Moments SAB stamp set.  I love the many sentiments found in this set and that you can pair them with pretty much any Stampin' Up! products for fantastic cards & scrapbook pages.

Notice the detail on the rainbow?  There are two stamps in the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set that were designed to fit over a section of the rainbow.  This one, with the hash marks, and the other is a sentiment stamp!  It says 'sending you a rainbow of happiness.'  I love that you can layer the rainbow like this.

I try to almost always decorate my card insides and envelopes.  It's pretty easy to just add another image to the inside of the card.  Sometimes I add the same or a similar image to the envelope.  Other times I add a piece of designer series paper to the envelope flap.  (That's what I did this time, but I forgot to take a picture)

Thank you for visiting my blog!  I'm adding the links to all the products I used for this card at the bottom of this post.  I would love for you to choose me as your demonstrator, if you don't already have one! :)

Here's the video tutorial, if you would like to learn how to create this card at home.

Stampin' Up! Catching Butterflies in Flowering Fields

Hello & welcome to my tiny corner of the internet.  Today's card features Stampin' Up!'s Catching Butterflies stamp set and gorgeous Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper.  I enjoyed coloring the images on this card with Watercolor Pencils.  Then, I used Blender Pens to blend the color a little.

The net is so easy to fussy cut around, I couldn't resist stamping an extra image of it to cut and attach to the card.  For an extra little touch, I added a small butterfly Brushed Brass Butterflies to her dress.  Then, I added a larger one to the inside of the card, as if it were fluttering through the strip of flower field.

I hope today's card inspired you to create and mix and match your stamping supplies!

I also made this card in my Facebook Live today.  You can watch the replay below,  if you would like to see the tutorial.

If you live in the USA and don't have a Demonstrator I would love to send you a catalog & Sale-a-bration brochure.  (You can also download copies of the current catalogs with the links in the sidebar of my blog)
I would L♥VE to be your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!

Stampin' Up! Driving By with Blessings of Home

Oh my goodness.  THIS is why I love challenges.  This card is not something I probably would have thought up on my own, but the challenge made it easy!  Flirty Flamingo, Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight is my NEW new favorite color combination!  😉

This challenge is from Hand Stamped Sentiments and has so many amazing possibilities!  I combined as much of the inspiration in this combo as I could.  (I really wanted to add a bird somewhere)

Do you often combine seemingly unconnected stamps together like I did on this card?  It's not something I do often, but I think the van from Driving By somehow works really well with this large floral stamp from Blessings of Home.  And I love that it does because both of these are great stamp sets!  Don't be afraid to mix and match stamps and see what you come up with.

Driving By is one of the exclusive Sale-a-bration items you can add to your order FREE when you purchase the Blessings of Home Bundle by the end of February 28th.  What could you make with these two stamp sets?

I thought about adding a bird to the inside of the card, but decided not to use another stamp set.  So, I stamped the van inside again.  This little pink van is very cheery and a little retro.  :)  It's so much fun to color with Stampin' Up!'s Stampin' Blends!

Thanks for checking out my card and for visiting my blog!  Let me know if there is anything stamping related that I can help you with.  I'm including a clickable shopping list at the bottom of this post for the items I used to create this card.
