Stampin' Up! Festive & Fun ~ Happy Christmas

It's been feeling like we have a lot more time until Christmas than we actual do.  Temperatures have FINALLY dropped in our area, and they dropped FAST.  For some reason, even though our weather is always wacky and unpredictable, the holidays always seem far away until the weather changes.

This image from Festive & Fun is perfect for a chilly day like today and to help bring in those Christmas vibes.  I had a lot of fun coloring this one with Stampin' Blends. I love that our blends, which are Stampin' Up!'s version of alcohol markers, come in pairs so we get a dark and a light of each color.  It's just one more way Stampin' Up! makes it so easy to coordinate colors!

This is the final card in my Festive & Fun Class to Go, which is only available for one more day.

Stampin' Up! Festive & Fun ~ Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Hey Stampers & Friends!  Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop.  I'm excited to be part of this fun and creative group sharing stamping ideas with you today!

Our color challenge and photo inspiration for this month can be found in the photo below.  My husband and I went to Colorado at the end of September to escape the Texas heat.  This photo makes me want to go back!  It was such a relaxing trip with so many picture perfect views.

I've been playing with Stampin' Up!'s Festive & Fun stamp set this week and I can assure you, it does live up to its name!  This is the first week I've been focusing on Christmas cards this year and I am ready to make more, more, more!

I used all the challenge colors, except Crushed Curry, and that's just because there isn't a Crushed Curry Stampin' Blend.  Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends were used instead.  The pops of color against all the white make me happy.

The pictures just don't do this card justice.  The Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder was used on the white background giving the entire card a bit of something extra.  Also, I used a bit of Wink of Stella on the star, but that doesn't show up in the photos.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Be sure to hop along with the links below for more card making inspiration.

Stampin' Up! Festive & Fun ~ A Little Something

When our youngest daughter was home this weekend she mentioned that this is her favorite card I've made with Festive & Fun so far.  I was a little surprised at first, because this one is so simple.

However, after thinking about it, I realized that it does make sense.  It's a cute little image and she typically prefers clean & simple over crowded & complicated. The embossed and raised background gives this card some texture and variation without making it too busy.

Turns out, I really like this card too.  I'm looking forward to using this layout on more cards in the future.
Thanks for visiting.

Stampin' Up! Festive & Fun ~ Christmas Giraffe

How fun is this giraffe decorating her Christmas Tree!?  I love that she can so easily reach to gently place the star on top!  Thankfully, my husband usually takes care of that job at our house...I'm entirely too short to reach the top off our tree easily.  And too clumsy to be climbing up things to do it safely! (Yup, 'things,' 'cause I'm usually too impatient to go get the stepladder!)

Bright colors are my favorite, and you just can't go wrong with a set of Designer Series Paper that's literally named Merry Bold & Bright DSP!  I love the color combinations in this DSP, so have used that several times in my card creations lately.

Thank you for visiting my blog today!  I hope you enjoy festive critters doing fun things as much as I do.  Check back later this week for more Festive & Fun ideas.

Stampin' Up! Beary Cute ~ Sketch Saturday

Hello and welcome to my blog!  This card was created for Sketch Saturday's Challenge #737. Today is the first day of this challenge, you have two weeks to play along.  There's an optional Theme Challenge, which is to turn the sketch and make a 2nd card that is horizontal!

This is my second card with the Beary Cute stamp set, and for some crazy reason I have still only used a couple of the sentiment stamps.  I bought the set for the adorable polar bears with matching polar bear punch.

But, since the polar bears are so perfectly displayed on the background piece of Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper, I really felt that was perfect for this card.  Next time I stamp with this set, which will probably be fairly soon, I will definitely have to play with those bear stamps!

Be sure to visit Sketch Saturday for more sketches and inspiration from our Design Team!
I sincerely hope you will play along with us and share your creations, too.

Stampin' Up! Beary Cute ~ Casually Crafting Blog Hop

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by!  Today I'm taking part in a blog hop with the Casually Crafting Design Team!  We are an international group of Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who want to share our take on casual crafting.  We will share what we love with you monthly.  Be sure to check out the rests of the design team's projects using the links at the bottom of this post.

For our challenge this month we were to make a card using this awesome sketch.  I've been looking forward to playing with the new Beary Christmas Suite, so pulled it out to have a look.  Turns out, the 'Merry Christmas' stamp in the Beary Cute stamp set is ideal for the sentiment piece on this sketch.

And, that ended up being the only thing I needed to stamp for this card!  Sketches like this one are fabulous for quick cards and for using up scraps.

I think it would be great to cut all of your pieces from scraps, then mix and match them for the background.  Simply change the sentiment to match your paper and occasion.

Stampin' Up! Bird's Eye View ~ Handmade Birthday Card

This is my final card with Bird's Eye View for now.  It's on to a new fun, really fun, stamp set tomorrow!  For today, I couldn't resist just one more card with both the Bird's Eye View stamps AND All About Autumn Designer Series Paper.  (See my previous two blog post for more of this combo!)

All About Autumn DSP is so pretty that there really isn't much more needed to make a complete card.  I find that simple card layouts are best with this type of DSP.  For this card, I used both sides of the same DSP.  I love the touch of copper that's on the strip.  It really kicks it up a notch!

Stampin' Up! Bird's Eye View ~ Grateful Handmade Card

Yesterday I shared a card created with Bird's Eye View stamps and All About Autumn Designer Series Paper.  Today, I'm doing it again with an entirely different card.  This combination just make creating beautiful fall cards too easy!

The 'Grateful' sentiment is from Very Best Occasions stamp set.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark, then covered it with Copper Embossing Powder.  After tapping off the excess powder, I set it with my Heat Tool.  Heat Embossing will probably always be one of my top 3 favorite techniques.  Often I use it to make my sentiments POP, but this time it just adds a subtle elegance to the card.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  I hope you will return soon.

Stampin' Up! Bird's Eye View ~ Thinking of You

Bird's Eye View and All About Autumn DSP.  THIS is a prime example of why I love Stampin' Up! so much.  Bird's Eye View is from the Annual Catalog.  the All About Autumn DSP was just released in the October-December Mini Catalog.  They coordinate so well it's like they were made for each other. But they weren't.  That's just how good Stampin' Up! is.

How do you feel about fussy cutting?  I'm a fan, but I admit I haven't always been!  Having a great pair of sharp, pointy scissors makes a huge difference.  And practice, so much practice.  I really enjoy fussy cutting the most when I have something else to do, like listen to an audiobook, podcast, or have a friend I can visit with while cutting out my images.

Stampin' Up! Bird's Eye View ~ Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog!  I'm excited to be joining the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop today.  I love being a part of these fun Blog Hops with other stampers sharing what we love and create!  Links to all the other blog posts for this hop are near the end of this post! - be sure to check them out! Hopefully you will be as inspired as I always am seeing what everyone else creates for this month's challenge.

This month's challenge was to create using the sketch below.  I'm so excited about this sketch because it's like it was made for Stampin' Up!'s new Heartfelt Hexagon Punch!  Bonus, this punch is surprisingly perfect with the stamp set I've been using all week, Bird's Eye View!

To create this shape, I pulled the bottom out of the punch and only punch the top of my piece.  Did you watch Stampin' Up!'s World Card Making Day presentation last weekend?  They shared this technique with this exact punch!  It's one of my long-time favorite 'tricks of the trade'.

The bird and books were colored with Pebble Path and Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blends.  I chose these colors to coordinate with the Fresh as a Daisy DSP.  I have to tell you, I'm a little surprised by how much I love the combo!  And the Garden Green glasses..."swoon." lol

After stamping the sentiment on a scrap piece of Garden Green Cardstock, I just quickly and simply trimmed around it with my Paper Snips (a.k.a. my favorite scissors).  For the finishing touch I added just a couple of 2023-2025 In Color Dots.  I know the general rule is to add an odd number of bling, but I felt like two just worked for this card.

Thank you for visiting my blog today!  I hope you were inspired to create something fun.  Speaking of inspiration, be sure to check out the rest of the blogs in this Blog Hop.  Links are just below.

Stampin' Up! Bird's Eye View ~ Class Card #3

When I stamped these glasses in red, it reminded me of a character in a tv show.  I was thinking maybe a character from Murphy Brown, but now I'm not so sure.  Can you think of a tv show character, recent or not, (Murphy Brown is NOT recent) that wears red glasses?  It's driving me crazy that I can't figure out who I was thinking of.

Since this One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper was designed as a pack of Christmas paper, I decided to use traditional Christmas colors for this 3rd card in my Bird's Eye View Class to Go.  The card base is Real Red and I threw a big of green on with a few Pretty Peacock Sequins from Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio embellishments.

Stampin' Up! Bird's Eye View ~ Class Card #2

This fun fold card is the second card in my Bird's Eye View Class to Go.  Fun Folds are so fun to make, especially when they look more complicated than they are!

I'm a huge fan of this color combination.  For many years growing up, our living room was decorated in blues and peaches (that's close to pink!).

This piece of One Horse Open Sleigh is perfect for this card...the little dots make me think of bird seed all lined up in a row. I think technically it's supposed to be snow though.

Would you like to see how this card is made?  Friday at 6pm I will be posting the Class Tutorial Video for all three cards from my Bird's Eye View Class to Go.  Be sure to subscribe & follow my YouTube Channel so you are notified when the video is ready to watch.

Stampin' Up! Bird's Eye View ~ Class Card #1

Bird's Eye View is such a sweet stamp set!  I love the bird images and adding glasses to them is such a fun detail.  I've decided to make this the stamp set for my next Class to Go, and this is the first card in that class!

All cards in the class also use the beautiful One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper.  The front side of this DSP is beautiful Christmas and Winter images, but the backs are all basic (still beautiful) prints that can be combined with any stamp set.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  Check back soon for more inspiration with this sweet stamp set!
