Stampin' Up! Daisy Lane friend card

Stampin' Up!'s Daisy Lane stamp set and Daisy Punch are on the Last Chance List, which means they are only available until May 2nd, or while supplies last, whichever comes first.  Not only that, the Daisy Lane stamp set is already listed as low inventory!  If this is a set that you have had your eye on, I hope you are able to get it before it sells out!
(The Medium Daisy Punch is carrying over to the new annual catalog)

For this card, I decided to heat emboss the sentiment and the stamped daisies.  Not only that, but I decided to use two of each size daisy to make my flower.  I like the result, but I must say it made for a fairly thick card!  I used Glue Dots to attach each layer of daisy and to attach the finished daisy to my card front.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope this card inspires you to create!

Stampin' Up! Sweet Strawberry ~ Card from the Catalog

Hi!  Today's sweet card features Stampin' Up!'s Sweet Strawberry Bundle.  This bundle is one of the items on the Last Chance List that was recently released from Stampin' Up!  Neither the set nor the punch will be returning in the next catalog.  They will only be available while supplies last.  I've gotta say, I'm sad to see this on that list!  I love creating bright and beautiful birthday and thank you cards with this one.

Actually, pretty much everything I used to create this card is on the Last Chance List!  Including the embossing folder, ribbon and embellishments.  I think this Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder has probably been my most used embossing folder over the last year.  I know this ribbon has been my most used...I might have enough for one more card!

I almost always stamp the inside of my cards and the envelope.  This card is no exception, even though I don't share that in my video tutorial (link below the next photo).  For the envelope and the inside of the card, I simply stamped the flowers and leaves and colored them to match the front of the card.

I hope you enjoyed this week's Card From the Catalog!  Please contact me if you have any questions, for a catalog (if you don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and live in the USA), or to Join!  You can also click the link at the top of my blog to sign up for my newsletter.

Stampin' Up! Hey Birthday Chick Birthday Card

Hi there!  Today's Hey Birthday Chick birthday card is a small slimline card on Thick Basic White Cardstock.  The front of the card measures 3-1/4" by 6-1/4".  This is one of my favorite sizes to work with.

The layout for this card was inspired by this sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches.  Check out their blog when you need inspiration or a bit of a challenge!  Clean & Simple cards have been a bit of a challenge for me in the past.  After joining in a few of their challenges, it's getting much easier for me to create clean & simple cards.  Plus, I really love the fresh look of these cards!

After stamping the images and sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, I used Stampin' Blends to quickly color the images.  The balloon is from the larger chicken.  I only inked the balloon and string and stamped them on a scrap of Basic White Cardstock.  After cutting out the balloon with the coordinating die, I snipped off the extra cardstock just under the balloon.  Then, I adhered the end of the string under the little chick's wing with Liquid Glue, and popped the balloon up a bit with a Stampin' Dimensional.

For the inside, I simply stamped another sentiment and added the chick in the corner.

This fun stamp set is only available until May 2nd, or as supplies last.  It, and many other amazing Stampin' Up! products, are on the Last Chance List and retiring at the end of this catalog.  The good news is that means we are getting ready to welcome in a new catalog! :)

Stampin' Up! Sweet Ice Cream Card - Sketch Saturday

Hello!  Welcome to my blog.  Today's card was inspired by the sketch below from Sketch Saturday.  Yesterday I used the Ice Cream Builder Punch for my card, and I typically don't post two cards in a row with the same products.  However, I just thought this Sweet Ice Cream stamp set was perfect for this sketch.  Of course, I had to use the Ice Cream Builder Punch, too! ;)

This is one of my current favorite stamp sets, and it is retiring May 2nd, or when supplies run out.  Since the stamp set and the punch are on sale, I'm a little concerned they might sell out sooner, rather than later!  In fact, the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper and the Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials are also on Stampin' Up!'s Last Chance List.  So of course, I felt a need to use them and post to my blog while they are still available!

These products truly are some of my favorites, mostly because they are so incredibly easy to create with!  If you need a quick and easy birthday or thank you card, you can't go wrong with this set.  It's great for anyone!

The Sweet Ice Cream stamps and Ice Cream Builder Punch also make great tags for gift bags.  (See this Tutorial Video)

Thanks for visiting my blog today!  I hope you are inspired to create something fun.  Visit the Sketch Saturday blog for more inspiration, and to join this week's Sketch Challenge!

Stampin' Up! Ice Cream Punch Card with Alcohol Ink Background

Happy Friday!  Today's card features Stampin' Up!'s Ice Cream Builder Punch with a fun alcohol ink technique background, created with Stampin' Blends.  If you are unfamiliar with Stampin' Blends, they are Stampin' Up!'s alcohol markers.  Like all Stampin' Up! products, they coordinate beautifully with all of Stampin' Up!'s other items.  Stampin' Blends come in a variety of colors and you get two blends per color, one light and one dark.

If you are unfamiliar with this technique, I shared how to do it on this YouTube video ~

For the inside of this card, I simply added a piece of Basic White Cardstock with a small ice cream cone added to the lower right corner.

Technically, this card doesn't require any stamping at all.  It's all punching, die cutting and of course creating that amazing background!

Stampin' Up! Pampered Pets Birthday Card

Hello!  Today is #NationalPuppyDay, so of course I had to create a card using the dog from Stampin' Up!'s Pampered Pets stamp set.  I tend to, almost always, color this dog with Smoky Slate & Basic Black Stampin' Blends.

The layout for this card is from Try Stampin' On Tuesday Blog and is Sketch Challenge 547.  Check out their blog for more sketch challenges and inspiration for this layout.

I quite often use Real Red as my accent color when I use this stamp set.  Lately I'm really, really loving Polished Pink.  When my girls were little, 1/2 of our closets were this color (the other half was shades of purple!).  Now, my girls have very little pink in their closets, or anywhere else for that matter.  I still absolutely love this color, though.

Opal Rounds are the perfect embellishment, in my opinion, when using so much Polished Pink.

Typically, I don't have more than two layers of Stampin' Dimensionals on a card.  I just don't like making them too thick.  I couldn't resist using 3 layers on this card, but in hindsight, I probably could have just used Liquid Glue to attach the Smoky Slate layer to the Card Base.  What do you think?  (the Polished Pink Square is attached to the DSP with Dimensionals and the dog is attached to the square with Dimensionals)

I kept the inside simple by just stamping the butterflies next to the sentiment, then coloring them in with the Polished Pink Stampin' Blends.  The envelope was dressed up with the other dog stamp on the flap.  So fun!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope this card inspires you to create!

Stampin' Up! Amazing Thanks Dies - Card from the Catalog

This week's Card from the Catalog can be found on p. 45 of the 2022 January - June Mini Catalog.  I did change a few things on this catalog, but kept the basic color scheme and layout the same.

Instead of using the Timeless Tiles Cling Stamp Set, I just used a piece of In Good Taste DSP.  This small change meant no stamping for this card!  I don't own the Ornate Layers Dies (wish I did), so instead I used my Scalloped Contours Dies (which I love).

The other big change I made was the embellishments.  The card in the catalog uses Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins, which are cool, but not my favorite.  Since I don't have these, I went with Polished Dots instead.  My youngest daughter encouraged me to use darker blue embellishments, so I colored the Polished Dots with my Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blend.

I hope you enjoyed this week's Card From the Catalog!  Please contact me if you have any questions, for a catalog (if you don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and live in the USA), or to Join!  You can also click the link at the top of my blog to sign up for my newsletter.

Back on Your Feet card

Today's card features a favorite stamp set, Back on Your Feet by Stampin' Up!®.  These images are perfect for coloring with Stampin' Blends.  You don't need to be an expert at using blends, and can keep it as simple or as fancy as you like.

This card was inspired by Sketch 527 from Freshly Made Sketches.  Sometimes I already have a stamp set in mind that I want to use when I find a sketch.  Other times, like in this instance, I see a sketch first, then immediately know which stamp set I want to use with it.  The card unfolds from there.

For the blue strip down the side, on the front and inside, I used a Blending Brush with Balmy Blue ink to add the color.  I recommend using something like washi tape to hold down the cardstock you are adding the color to, as well as the mask you are using to cover either side of the colored strip.

The strip on the front is 1" wide, while the strip inside is only 1/4" wide.  I think I will add another 1/4" strip along the flap of the envelope before giving this one away.

Hand-Penned Hello Card - Casually Crafting Blog Hop

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by!  Today I'm taking part in a blog hop with the Casually Crafting Design Team!  We are an international group of Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who want to share our take on casual crafting.  We will share what we love with you monthly.  Be sure to check out the rests of the design team's projects using the links at the bottom of this post.

This month we are doing a Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  I don't do a ton of these, I'm not sure why, because they are loads of fun!  Like regular tic tac toe, you are aiming for 3 in a row, or more!  I decided to aim for the right side, using ribbon (twine), hello, and white on my card.  It really doesn't get much easier than that!

This card is super fast to make.  I would say the part that took the longest was making sure the 'hello' was dry enough to handle!  I stamped it with Whisper White Craft Ink, which does take a bit longer than classic inks to dry.

Usually when stamping only a portion of a stamp, I recommend masking the unused part with Post-it Notes.  However, this time I did not mask.  Instead, I used my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to go over the 3 tiny dots of ink that were extra after trimming off the other words.  Shhh...no one will ever know if you don't tell them.  😉

To brighten up my envelope, I used Liquid Glue to add a piece of the Hand-Penned DSP to the flap.  I love having envelopes that match my cards!

Thanks again for visiting my blog!  Don't forget to swing by the other blogs in this hop to see the creativeness of my fellow team members!

Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Prince & Princess Handmade Card

Hello & Welcome!  Isn't this just the sweetest card?  Swans always make me think of fairy tales, nursery rhymes and Barbie movies!  lol  This is the card I made in my Facebook Live last night.  Would you like to see how?  Scroll down and just before the Product List at the end of this post, you will find the YouTube link.

I used several fun tools & techniques to create this card.  Including heat embossing with clear embossing powder over the stamped image.  This was made super easy with my Stamparatus.  I also masked the swan with Post-it Notes, before spraying around it with a Stampin' Spritzer.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the roses in the corner and colored them in with Polished Pink & Soft Succulent Blends.  I also added these roses to the envelope.

This stamp set is one of the items available to Hosts.  You can choose this as one of the things you purchase with Host Rewards when your order totals $150.  Don't want to spend that much at once, but still want the set?  Host a Facebook or Zoom party!  I'll be happy to help you with that. Just know, this stamp set most likely won't be around much longer, since the current catalog will be retiring at the end of April 2022.

Make a quick watercolor background

Hi there!  Today's card is a little different from my usual style, and I kinda love it.  I used Stampin' Up!'s Water Painters, the thick one, to create the watercolor wash background on Shimmery White Cardstock.  I chose Magenta Madness for this card base and the watercolor wash.  To keep the outline around the watercolor, I used 1/8" wide Post-it Tape to cover the edges and hold the card down while I used the water painter.

The largest die from Potted Succulents Dies was used to cut the succulents out of Basic White Cardstock.  I used Paper Snips to trim away the parts I didn't want to keep.  Then, using a Sponge Dauber, I added Liquid Glue to the back of the flowers and adhered them to background piece.

The small succulents were cut from Just Jade Cardstock and Gold Metallic Specialty Paper.  They were also adhered with Liquid Glue.  The sentiment piece was attached with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Inside I stamped a smallish succulent in Just Jade in the lower left corner.

This is the front of the envelope.  I always enjoy decorating my envelopes, and thought I would try something a little different.  I almost didn't share it, but then decided to go ahead and show you.  I love the watercolor wash on the card so much, I thought I would try it on the front of the envelope, also.  This time I used 1-inch Post-it Tape.  I goofed by starting with too much water on my Water Painter tip, so it didn't go great.  The edges leaked, as you can see, and the enveloped warped.  :(  I don't hate it, but I don't love it.  MAYBE I will try again in the future, making sure to keep my brush a bit drier.  I DID put a scrap of paper in the envelope before painting it, so the water didn't go through...that at least was a good move.  ;)

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope this card inspires you to create!
