Sketch Saturday Challenge #665

Sketch Saturday has just posted a new Sketch Challenge ~ Sketch #665.  I chose Stampin' Up!'s Dragonfly Garden Bundle to create with while working on this challenge.

MEASUREMENTS
Basic Black Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
Very Vanilla Cardstock ~ 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" and 2-1/2" x 2-1/2", plus a 4" x 5-1/4" piece for the inside
(unless you plan to use a white gel pen/chalk marker to write with inside)
Dandy Garden DSP ~ 4" x 5-1/4"
Bermuda Bay Cardstock ~ 1-/2" x 3"
Basic Black Cardstock ~ 2-1/2"

1.  Stamp the wings of one of the larger dragonflies on a scrap piece of Vellum.  Stamp twice so that they overlap just a bit.  It will look a little messy, but it will be okay.  Set this aside to give the ink time to dry.

2.  Stamp the sentiment on the 2-1/2" piece of  Vanilla CS.
3.  Layer the Very Vanilla CS, DSP, and Bermuda Bay CS as shown, using your favorite adhesive.
4.  Use Glue Dots to hold down two 3" pieces of ribbon.
5.  Use Layering Circles Dies to cut out the sentiment.  Use the next larger die to cut out the scalloped Black background.
6.  Attach the Vanilla Circle to the Basic Black CS with your adhesive of choice.
7.  Using Stampin' Dimensionals, layer the sentiment pieces over the ribbon and strip of Bermuda Bay CS.

8.  Hold the Dragonfly Punch upside down to punch the small dragonfly over the wings you stamped on Vellum.

9.  Color the center of the dragonfly with the Light Basic Black Stampin' Blend.  It still might look a bit messy, but will be fine once it's on the card.  Slightly bend the wings up, then glue to the sentiment piece.

10.  Finally, add two Ladybug Trinkets, using Mini Glue Dots to the upper right hand corner of your card front.

Thanks for swinging by my blog.  I hope you enjoyed this card and are inspired by the sketch.  I encourage you to check out Sketch Saturday and join the challenge!

Happy Stamping!
