Stampin' Up! Sweet as a Peach Birthday Card

When I first saw the Sweet as a Peach Bundle in the Annual Catalog, I knew I had to get it.  NOT because I love peaches, because I really don't (fruit shouldn't be fuzzy, it's weird), but because where I live, and grew up, we have a Peach Festival every summer.  EVERYTHING is peach flavored in the summer!!  Much to my surprise, this ended up being one of my favorite suites this year.  I love the You're a Peach Designer Series Paper, the stamps are great and the dies really add something special.  Bonus: I don't even have to use the actual peach stamps if I don't want to.  lol  Take today's card, for instance.  I used one die from Stockings Dies, but all the other dies and the stamps I used are from the Sweet as a Peach Bundle.

MEASUREMENTS
Basic Gray Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"
You're a Peach Designer Series Paper ~ 2-1/4" x 5-1/2", 2-1/2" x 4-1/2", and 1/2" x 5-1/2"
Pear Pizzazz Cardstock ~ 3/4" x 2-3/4"
Basic White Cardstock ~ 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" (*2), 3" x 2-1/2" (*2) and 4" x 5-1/4"

  • Use Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp the leaves on the 3" pieces of Basic White CS.  Stamp the flowers on the 2-1/2" pieces of Basic White CS with Balmy Blue ink.
  • Stamp 'Happy Birthday' using Calypso Coral ink on the strip of Pear Pizzazz CS.  Be sure to stamp closer to the right edge than the left.
  • Use the 'pocket' die from Stockings Dies to cut the dotted piece of DSP.  (Don't have that die?  Just trim this piece to 2-1/4" x 3-3/4")
  • Use the Peach Dies & Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (the Mini SC&E Machine works great) to cut out the flowers and leaves.
  • Use the Pick a Punch to punch the end of the birthday banner
  • It's time to assemble your card!  Begin by gluing the floral piece of DSP to the front of your card.  Then, glue the dotted DSP overlapping that.  Next, glue the two leaves, with the stems slightly overlapping.
  • Use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the birthday banner.  Be sure to place the Dimensionals near the top of the banner, leaving room to slide the ribbon under it.
  • Attach the Shimmer Ribbon to the White Linen Ribbon with Glue Dots.  Now add Glue Dots behind the Linen Ribbon and slide it under the birthday banner.
  • Use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach five of the flowers to the front of your card.
  • Finish your card front by adding Pearls to the center of each flower.

For the inside of the card: Glue the 1/2" strip of DSP to the left side of the 4" Basic White CS.  Then, glue the Basic White to the inside of your card.  Another option would be to glue the extra flower to the Basic White CS, instead of the DSP strip.
