Stampin' Up! Go to Greetings Birthday Card ~ Sketch Saturday

Hello & Welcome!  Today's card was created for Sketch Saturday's Challenge #748.  This is the first day of the challenge and you have two weeks to play along.  (Challenge ends April 19)  The optional twist for this card challenge is to incorporate a food or drink theme.  

I've been wanting to use these Paper Butterfly Accents, and thought this sketch was ideal for them, so I skipped the food/drink theme this time.  In fact, the very first thing I did when making this card was to choose the 3 butterflies I wanted to use. Then, I used a Mini Blending Brush to add a touch of Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape inks.  

When that was done, I started putting this sweet card together.  The butterflies in the corner were attached with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals that I trimmed to fit in strategic places behind the butterflies.  Before I adhered the middle butterfly with Liquid Glue, I added a bit of Wink of Stella to it, which gave it a subtle shimmer and spread the ink around a little to make a bit more of a contrast.

Go to Greetings really has been my 'go to' for sentiments, which makes it super sad that this stamp set is retiring soon!  After stamping the smallest birthday greeting from this set in Gorgeous Grape ink, I cut it out with a die cut from Countryside Corners Dies.

Stampin' Up! Hot Air Balloon ~ Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Hey Stampers!  Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop.  I'm excited to be part of this fun & creative group sharing stamping inspiration with you today!

Our inspiration this month comes from the sketch pictured below.  This is such a fabulous sketch, with SO many possibilities!  I immediately thought of two stamp sets when I saw this set.  The first was the Excellent Eggs stamp set.  Sadly, I don't own that stamp set.  So, I decided to go with the second set that immediately popped into my brain, Hot Air Balloon!

When I was at OnStage in Houston a couple of weeks and got to see the new 2024-2026 In Colors for the first time, I immediately knew that I was going to go home and make a card with Hot Air Balloon using these new colors.  They are PERFECT together!  

OnStage is an amazing event for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators where we get to celebrate our accomplishments for the previous year and play with new product.  The BEST thing about OnStage though is getting to spend time with other demonstrators.  Especially those that live far away that we typically only interact with online.

For the background, I stamped the basket for the center balloon (after stamping off on a scrap of paper once).  Then, I used the Cloud Punch to create several clouds before adhering them to a piece of Basic White Cardstock.
