Stampin' Up! Oh So Ombre Dragonfly Garden

Did you see the card I posted Thursday using Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper and the Tasteful Touches Bundle?  I had a 2"x6" strip of the solid ombre DSP left, so I turned it over to the Bermuda Bay side and stamped these beautiful flowers on it.  After that, this card basically created itself!

When I realized www.SUOChallenges.com had a Designer's Choice challenge running this month, I knew I had to add this one to the challenge.

To really make the dragonfly pop, I used versamark and black Stampin' Emboss Powder (oops!  It's retired - I keep forgetting that!  If you don't have the black Stampin' Empboss Powder, you can stamp in black ink, let it dry, then stamp again with versamark and add Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder.  The Stamparatus makes lining the stamp up the 2nd time super easy!)  After heat embossing the dragonfly, I used Stampin' Blends to color it in.

After punching the dragonfly out with the Dragonflies Punch, I added 2 stampin' dimensionals to the right wing and used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach it to the ombre strip (which was attached to the background with Stampin' Dimensionals).

(The project list for today's card is at the bottom of this blog post)

If you purchase the Dandy Garden Suite during Sale-A-Bration, you can choose one Level 2 Sale-A-Bration item or two Level 1 items to add to your order for FREE!  Add just one more $5 order to your purchase to be eligible for two Level 2 items, or 4 Level 1 items, OR a combination of two Level 1 items plus one Level 2 item!  I love Sale-A-Bration!

  2. Such a pretty card Judith. Great the way you've used up leftover dsp from another project to create this card - having no waste!! You're alternative for the embossing with the clear emboss powder over the black ink is brilliant, just shows there is always a way round everything. Thanks for taking part in the SUO challenge hope to see you on the next one x Natalie Arnold
