Timeless Tropical Double Folding Card

Hi!  Welcome to my blog! Do you know somebody who needs to Rest & Relax?  Or do YOU need to rest and relax?  I think I do!  I might make another version of this card that I can frame and hang in my craft room (which doubles as a guest room/office).

As soon as I saw this card sketch by Paper Craft Crew I immediately knew I would be making a card with two folds...it's just perfect!  I guess I have cards with two folds on the brain this week. Tuesday's card for my blog and YouTube channel was another version of a card with two folds, you can see that card on my blog here, or YouTube here

MEASUREMENTS
Crumb Cake Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 2-1/4" and 6-1/2"
Crumb Cake Cardstock ~ 2" x 5-1/2" and a small scrap at least 1"x 2-1/2"
Beauty of the Earth DSP ~ 2-1/4" x 5-1/2"
Basic White Cardstock ~ 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" and 4" x 5-1/4" (inside)
Polished Pink Cardstock ~ 3" x 3" and 2" x 2"

  • Stamp the trees and pineapple with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on the Basic White CS measuring 3-1/2"...make sure you leave enough space around each stamp to die cut them later.
  • Color the stamped images with Stampin' Blends.
  • Stamp the flowers on Polished Pink CS using Polished Pink ink.
  • Place the 2" piece of Crumb Cake CS in the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, then run it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.
  • Use the coordinating In the Tropics Dies to cut out the stamped flowers, pineapple and trees.
  • Stamp the sentiment with Versamark on the smallest piece of Crumb Cake CS.  Cover with Basic Black Embossing Powder, tap off the excess and set with the Heat Gun.
  • Use Paper Snips to cut out the bottom part of the sentiment ('you deserve it') using straight, close cuts. Then fussy cut around the remaining 'Rest & Relax'.  Be sure to save the bottom part for the inside of the card.
  • All your pieces should be ready to assemble on the front of the card as shown.  I used Liquid Glue to attach everything except the sentiment. When adding the large flower, only add adhesive to the top half of the flower.  The lower half needs to be loose so you can open the flaps. Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to add the sentiment.
  • Add the Opal Rounds to the front of the card, then you're ready for the inside of the card.

Attach the 4" piece of Basic White CS to the center of the inside of the card.  Then attach the flower.  Once the flower is attached, add Liquid Glue to just the center of the sentiment piece and attach it to the flower.  Glue the pineapple to the lower corner, as shown.
