Stampin' Up! Color & Contour ~ Casually Crafting Blog Hop

Hi!  Welcome to my blog!  I'm so excited to be part of the Casually Crafting Design Team.  We are an international group of Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who want to share our take on casual crafting.  We will share what we love with you monthly.  Be sure to check out the rests of the design team's projects using the links at the bottom of this post.

Our challenge this month was a color challenge using Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight and Polished Pink.  These colors together are amazing and there's so many possibilities.  My first thought was to create a card using the Sweet Ice Cream set, but when I went to get my stamps off the shelf I ended up grabbing Color & Contour.  This set is so amazing!

MEASUREMENTS
Thick Basic White Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"
Hand Penned Designer Series Paper ~ 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"
Polished Pink Cardstock ~ 3-1/4" x 4-1/2"
Basic White Cardstock ~ 3-1/4" x 4-1/2"
Pear Pizzazz Cardstock ~ 2" x 1"

  • Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the flower in the center of the Basic White CS, with the stem just slightly hanging off the bottom edge.
  • Color the flower and leaves with Stampin' Write Markers (Pear Pizzazz and Polished Pink)
  • Stamp the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Then, trim around the sentiment.
  • Attach the DSP to the front of the card base.  Then, attach the Polished Pink CS to the DSP a little crooked, as shown.
  • Use Glue Dots to attach Polished Pink ribbon behind the Basic White CS.  Then tie a 'faux' bow to the ribbon.
  • Use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the Basic White CS to the center of the card front, over the Polished Pink CS.
  • Add the Pear Pizzazz sentiment piece using one Stampin' Dimensional on the edge and Liquid Glue on the rest.
  • If desired, add a little bling, rhinestones, pearls or In Color Jewels are all great options!

I went ahead and made a stepped up version of this card.  I used the Stampin' Write Marker to color just the stem of the flower before stamping. The flowers were cut out using the coordinating Scalloped Contours Dies.  The sentiment was heat embossed.

I hope you enjoyed this card!
