Stampin' Up! Sweet Little Stockings

Hello and welcome to my blog!  I told myself I wasn't going to make anymore Christmas cards this week.  Then I saw this sketch from Christmas Card Throwdown and couldn't get it out of my head!  So, I decided to go ahead and make another Christmas card this week after all.  ;)  Isn't this sketch perfect for this Sweet Little Stockings stamp set?!?

MEASUREMENTS
Pool Party Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"
Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper ~ 5-1/4" x 4"
 Basic White Cardstock  - 5" x 3-1/4" and 4" x 5-1/4" (inside)

  • Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the critters and the sentiment on the 3-1/4" piece of Basic White CS.  Be sure to leave enough space between each stamp to cut out with dies.
  • Color the critters (I used Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen)
  • Use the coordinating Stockings Dies to cut out the critters and Tasteful Labels Dies to cut out the sentiment.
  • Once the sentiment is cut out, place it where you want it (don't glue it down yet!) to figure out where you want the circles to go.  Use the three smallest Layering Circles Dies to cut out the circles.  (Remove the sentiment before cutting the circles)
  • Once the circles are cut out, place (don't glue) the DSP down where you want it on the card front.  Flip the circles over and glue them in their places on the front of the Card Base.
  • Use Stampin' Dimensionals to carefully center the DSP back over the circles and attach to the front of the card.
  • Glue the sentiment piece down.
  • Use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the critters inside the circles.
  • Add a little bling around the sentiment with Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

It is up to you what you want to do on the inside.  I stamped a gift box with bow, then colored it with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen. I also stamped a sentiment under the box.
