Stampin' Up! Whimsical Trees - My first Christmas card this year!

Hi!  Have you started thinking about Christmas cards yet?  I like to start creating them early in the year, so they are ready to go when the busy Christmas season gets here.  Today's card was inspired by this sketch at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  I immediately thought of the new Whimsy & Wonder Suite by Stampin' Up! when I saw this sketch.  I love it when a sketch immediately brings a certain stamp set, bundle or suite to mind!

MEASUREMENTS
Misty Moonlight Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
Polished Pink Cardstock ~ 5-3/8" x 4-1/8"
Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper ~ 1-1/4" x 4" and 3-7/8" x 4"
Basic White Cardstock ~ 1-1/4" x 2-1/2" and 4" x 5-1/4"

  • Stamp the ornaments with Versamark on the 1-1/4" Basic White CS.  Cover with Silver Embossing Powder.  Tap off the excess powder, then set with the Heat Tool.
  • Color the ornaments.  I used Stampin' Blends, Dark Mint Macaron, Dark Polished Pink and Dark Misty Moonlight.
  • Glue the DSP to the Polished Pink CS as shown. Then attach a piece of Misty Moonlight twine to it as shown.  (I used two glue dots behind the Polished Pink CS)
  • Tie a bow around the Misty Moonlight twine, with another piece of the same twine. I used half of a Glue Dot behind the bow to keep it from moving around.
  • Use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the Polished Pink CS to the front of the Card Base
  • Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the ornaments to the front of the card.  (I cut one to make it fit behind each of the 'strings' for the ornaments)

Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp the tree and sentiment on the 4" Basic White CS.  Then, glue it to the inside of the card.

Clever to use the ornaments as your flag element, too! Thank you for sharing your card and creative talents with us at Try Stampin' on Tuesday!!! -Donna
