Stampin' Up! Shaded Summer Cards - 1 yr Blogging Anniversary!

Hi!  It has been exactly ONE YEAR since I posted my first card on this blog.  Time sure flies when you are having fun!  I have learned so much over that time, met some amazing Stampin' Up! Demonstrators (and other crafters), and created literally hundreds of cards!  Thank you to everyone who has read my blog, commented, and/or helped me learn a little something over this amazing year.  I'm looking forward to many, many, MANY more years blogging, creating, teaching, and selling Stampin' Up!

I decided to make two cards for today's post, both a slightly different version of that first card I posted last year.  This is that first card, and here's the link if you want to go back to that post.

MEASUREMENTS
Pale Papaya or Soft Succulent Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"
Pale Papaya or Soft Succulent Layer ~ 4" x 5-1/4"
Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper ~ 1-5/8" x 3-3/4" (*3)
Soft Succulent Cardstock ~ scrap approximately 1-1/2" x 2-1/4"
Basic White Cardstock ~ scrap at least 1" x 2" and 4" x 5-1/4" (inside)

  • If desired, color your DSP using Stampin' Blends.
  • Adhere the three DSP strips to the first layer of the card.
  • Attach a 5-3/4" piece of ribbon across the first card layer, securing the ends behind the cardstock with Glue Dots.
  • Either tie another piece of ribbon in a faux bow around the ribbon, as pictured below; or tie a bow and secure it to the ribbon with two or three Glue Dots, as pictured above.
  • Stamp your chosen sentiment on the Basic White scrap using Soft Succulent ink.
  • Use the Double Oval Punch to punch out the sentiment with the smooth oval.  Then, punch scalloped Soft Succulent oval to attach the sentiment to.
  • Adhere the sentiment ovals to over the ribbon strip with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Add a few In Color Jewels to the front of your card.
  • Finish by attaching the Basic White Cardstock to the inside of the card, if desired.  This card is light enough that you can skip this step if you would like to.  (I always just think it helps the card to look a bit more finished)

I hope you enjoyed this cards.  Thanks again for reading my blog.  I am looking forward to the next year of blogging!
