Stampin' Up! Merry Snowflakes ~ Sketch Saturday

 

Today's sketch is a good one from over at Sketch Saturday.  I love that when following a sketch we have creative license to change the shape or placement of pretty much anything on the sketch to 'own it'.  I chose to use a Wonderful Snowflake instead of the rectangle on the front.  Since I was using a snowflake, I knew I wanted to use a light blue and I wanted a snowflake background.  This sheet from Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper paired with Coastal Cabana Cardstock fit the bill perfectly. 

MEASUREMENTS

Card Base ~ Sahara Sand Cardstock ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"

Layer 1 ~ Coastal Cabana Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4"

Layer 2  ~ Tidings of Christmas DSP ~ 3-3/4" x 5"

Layer 3 ~ Coastal Cabana Cardstock ~ (*2) 1" x 2-1/2"

Inside Layer ~ Basic White Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4"

• Use the snowflake embossing folder from Wintry 3D Embossing Folders to emboss both pieces of Layer 3 (you can do them both at the same time)
• Stamp 'merry everything' with Versamark on Layer 2, as shown.  Heat emboss with white embossing powder
• Adhere Layer 1 to the card base, then add layers 2 and 3, as shown.  Use a Stampin' Dimensional to attach the snowflake

Use Coastal Cabana ink to stamp the sentiment on the Inside Layer.  With the same ink, add a snowflake in the lower right corner.  I did stamp off once before stamping the snowflake.  Adhere the Inside Layer to the inside of your card.
