Stampin' Up! Pampered Pets Birthday Card

Hello!  Today is #NationalPuppyDay, so of course I had to create a card using the dog from Stampin' Up!'s Pampered Pets stamp set.  I tend to, almost always, color this dog with Smoky Slate & Basic Black Stampin' Blends.

The layout for this card is from Try Stampin' On Tuesday Blog and is Sketch Challenge 547.  Check out their blog for more sketch challenges and inspiration for this layout.

I quite often use Real Red as my accent color when I use this stamp set.  Lately I'm really, really loving Polished Pink.  When my girls were little, 1/2 of our closets were this color (the other half was shades of purple!).  Now, my girls have very little pink in their closets, or anywhere else for that matter.  I still absolutely love this color, though.

Opal Rounds are the perfect embellishment, in my opinion, when using so much Polished Pink.

Typically, I don't have more than two layers of Stampin' Dimensionals on a card.  I just don't like making them too thick.  I couldn't resist using 3 layers on this card, but in hindsight, I probably could have just used Liquid Glue to attach the Smoky Slate layer to the Card Base.  What do you think?  (the Polished Pink Square is attached to the DSP with Dimensionals and the dog is attached to the square with Dimensionals)

I kept the inside simple by just stamping the butterflies next to the sentiment, then coloring them in with the Polished Pink Stampin' Blends.  The envelope was dressed up with the other dog stamp on the flap.  So fun!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope this card inspires you to create!

  2. Judith, I love your card with all it's textures and dimension! You did a great job coloring the pup! I like to add lots of dimension to my cards too, but the downside is the extra postage. Thank you for sharing your card and talents with us at Try Stamnpin' on Tuesday!!! -Donna

  4. What a happy pup!! I love the dimension on your card - it just adds so much when the design is clean and has one focal image. I've just decided that extra postage is just part of my creation :-) I'm just realizing now what a small and friendly crafting community we are. We are on a team together. It's really fun and I feel like I am getting to know people -even though it's all virtual. Thank you for sharing your talents with this Try Stampin'On Tuesday challenge.
