Stampin' Up! Happiness Abounds

Hi there! Today's (probably this week's) featured stamp set is Happiness Abounds, which can be found in the NEW 2022-2023 Annual Catalog!  I am so excited about this set and can't wait to show you the entire thing.  Tomorrow I will be using this set, and the rest of the Hues of Happiness Suite, in my YouTube video.

Today's card was inspired by this fun sketch challenge at Just Add Ink.  That's pretty much what I did, I added lots of ink with just a little bit of stamping! ;)  Be sure to check out their blog and join the fun challenges they share.

I used the two largest hexagon dies from Beautiful Shapes Dies to make a temporary mask for my
4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White Cardstock.  Then, I used Blending Brushes to create the background.  Once I had the background inked up, I removed the mask.  This is one of my favorite techniques!
The flower was stamped on Fluid 100 Watercolor paper, then watercolored with Melon Mambo & Granny Apple Green inks.

This inside layer is Basic White Cardstock.  I took a chance by stamping the image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, then water colored the flower.  When using water colors on Basic White CS, just remember to not use too much water and don't get too close to black outline. I really like the way this one turned out.

I love the color combination of all these pinks with Granny Apple Green!  From top to bottom I used ~ Melon Mambo ~ Flirty Flamingo ~ Blushing Bride ~ Granny Apple Green.  Of course, I couldn't resist adding Brushed Brass Butterflies...my all-time favorite embellishment!

I hope you like this card and are inspired to create something beautiful.

Live in the USA?  I would L♥VE to be your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!

Happy Stamping!
