Stampin' Up!® Free as a Bird card with Water Painters

 

I decided to return to some of my favorite stamps from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.  Free as a Bird is such a sweet stamp set with so many possibilities!  I love using Water Painters, like on today's card, to color the images.  Especially when pairing these stamps with DSP like this Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper. 

MEASUREMENTS

Card Base ~ Blushing Bride Cardstock ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"

Layer 1 ~ Basic Black Cardstock ~ 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"

Layer 2 ~ Hand-Penned DSP ~ 4" x 5-1/4"

Layer 3 ~ Basic Black Cardstock ~ 2-3/8" x 4-3/8"

Layer 4 ~ Shimmery White Cardstock ~ 2-1/4" x 4-1/4"

scrap of Blushing Bride Cardstock 

Inside Layer ~ Basic White Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4"

• Use Jet Black Staz-On ink to stamp the birds on Layer 4
• Color the stamped image with Water Painters,  using the lids of the ink pads as your paint palette 
• On the scrap of Blushing Bride CS, stamp a small sentiment with Versamark ink, then Heat Emboss with Black Embossing Powder
• Cut out the sentiment with the small tag from Ornate Frames Dies
• Tie a bow at the top of the tag with Black Baker's Twine
• Adhere the layers to the front of the card
• Attach the tag to the top card layer with Stampin' Dimensionals
• Add a few Opal Rounds as your finishing touch

On the inside layer, stamp the larger bird in the lower left corner with Staz-On ink. 

Very lightly color the bird with Water Painters, but be careful not to use too much water.

Adhere this layer to the inside of the card.
